Let's put things into perspective...

We could only manage a point against one of our relegation rivals and a average team in West Ham (a team who had previously lost 4 on the trot leading into the game at the weekend)

We look a poor team which is non-existent in the attacking third. The Midfield is very poor.

Defensively we look suspect in some games.

Our two new singnings - Digard looks average and Emnes has not been given the chance to really show what he can do and lets face it - If he can't get into this current team he can't be that good.

And to top it all off we have a poor manager.

Yes we may be in 8th position in the league at the moment but we are only 3 points above the bottom 3 and with Aston Villa and Everton coming up we could be very close to being in the bottom 3 in the next couple of weeks.

Stop getting carried away.

Another way of looking at it is there are only 3 teams who we realistically compete with that are doing better than us.

We arn't world-beaters for sure. But this is a poor Prem league this season and we should have enough to steer clear of the mire - as long as our main 12 or 13 players stay fit.

i tend to post on a lot of threads, and the fact he starts a lot means the math works out. I do watch for his threads, because they are entertaining - that's what you need to learn from him. he does it with style most of the time. he is a bit more subtle than you.

oh, and I use mappy purely for laziness reasons, same as GON or Ali. I would likely use Downing, not Stewey.

wasnt having a dig MK, seriously. I had asked in all seriousness on that thread a while back. I was only 14 when I left, and only ever experienced the Ayresome days. there are plenty on here who hark back to those days as the epitome of atmosphere, while others say that is red-tinted specs.

I dont see why a game cant be a family day out, and enjoy the game. does it really have to be "the lads", the ability to stand and swear at will, and P***ing against the back wall?

In respose to your question Ayresome Park was much better than the Riverside in terms of atmosphere. You are not missing much by not attending the Riverside. Bring the Holgate back anyday. Less ra ra's about in them days as well.

We havent played well in weeks. We were poor against WestHam, Man City, Blackburn, Chelsea, Wigan, West Brom, Sunderland, Portsmouth and Stoke. We havent put in a peformance since Liverpool and are riding on our luck. Sending off v Stoke, Zaki having an off day, Blackburn hitting the woodwork and the ref missing taylors handball, and turnbulls form in the last 2 games. That luck wont last forever.

We have had one of the easiest run ins the prem and have been lucky thats why we are in 8th. it will not last I stand by my statement that Boro will be bottom 3 by the end of this month, and could be adrift by the end of the year.
Only Arca and Gario seeming to work for 20 mins in the last game gives me a bit of light at the end of the tunnel. But its dark times for Boro.

Pompey-S***e.
Sunderland-better team, should have took something from it.
West Brom-By far the better team, should have took 3 points.
Wigan-Solid away performance, lucky to win.
Chelsea-Disaster
Blackburn-Pretty good away performance, draw probably fair. If we'd had hung on then nobody would have complained.
Man City-Good open game of footy, draw probably fair but good performance.
West Ham-Good last 20 but not good enough beforehand.

All that ain't poor.

There will be another 14-15 teams who are as poor as us, it's down to us to turn 2 or 3 losses into draws and draws into wins. No reason why we can't do that injuries permitting. Outside thtop4 there is nothing to fear.
