Steve McClaren The Ginger Magician

Thought this deserved its own thread for the Boro Rara's who loved the Ginger fella.

Simple although Smac is classed as the most successful Boro manager the facts are.
2 penalty shootout wins = Carling cup Final (Lucky C***)
Early Penalty in Final = Good Start 1 up & although doing his best to throw it away = Europe Linked to the above (Lucky C***).
2nd Year In Europe all because Robbie Flower missed a Penalty (80% of what was served up was S***e) = (Lucky C***).
Twice almost out of the comp Massimo scores goals in injury time to see us through to the final = (Lucky C***).
The Final out classed by a proper manager and a team that played football = (luck ran out).
England job = (Proven to be complete clown way out of his depth)
Where he is now = (Made to look even dafter by speaking with a dutch twang on tv) = (clown).
Some of his team Selections ie playing Parlour & medi as right wingers and some of subs he made where just pathetic & the same with the England team = (no idea)
Overall rating = Silly daft ginger C***

Although I didn't really like McClaren his team gave me the best moments since I have been watching Boro.

When Massimo scored that header did you go "oh McClaren you are a lucky C***'?

I love it when people decide to give their own thread to something they prevously posted on another.

Usually means nobody replied to it originally cos they all knew you were talking S***e. Why you'd want to advertise that to everyone is beyond me

He's probably sitting there in his Man Utd AIG top with Rooney across the back. He's been to The Riverside twice...
(To see United) and never heard of Ayresome Park !

So Steve McClaren was consistently lucky for his whole time at the Boro? A statistical miracle, methinks - or maybe a load of tendentious crap.

He come the rara's 2 penalty shoot out wins started it all off , just like winning 2 coin tosses on the trot.

Facts are Fact
His football might have been crap to watch but the man is our most successful manager ever

Parlour was excellent on the right wing when he first arrived. Injuries unfortunately put pay to that.

going by your logic
alex Ferguson is a cr#p manager cos

John Terry missed a penna in Moscow
injury time winner at the Nou Camp

Like him or i do loathe him
MClowm was our most successful manager ever

Surely the main point is... What is wrong with having a lucky manager in charge of the team???

If it means we win stuff then its fine by me.

Did I think McClaren you lucky tvvat when Maccarone scored the late goals? Did I balls I was too busy going mental to be bothered about whos lucky and who isnt.

I thought the main point was he wasn't as good a manager as was professed on here.

Our most successful manager ever coupled with the shortest lived England manager ever, still couldn't grab a job in the prem now could he.

The league was s*ite under him and the legacy he left was a woeful team. Yet people still harped on about his building for the future like they actually believed it.

How many times did he try and bail on us, 3 wasn't it?

HelmutSchmutz Posted on 16/10/2008 10:24

Finished 7th in the league
Won Carling Cup
Uefa Cup Final
FA Cup Semi Final

Made a pretty good go of it at one stage or another in every competition we were in while he was here. I don't like the guy but give him some credit, all that wasn't just down to luck.

He is our most successful manager. Pure fact.

Highest scorers in the Premier for 2004-2005 season after Man Utd, Chelsea and the Arse. FACT. No mean feat.

You are a moron quoting all these penaltys, etc.

"Early Penalty in Final = Good Start 1 up & although doing his best to throw it away"

a) We scored before we got the penalty
b) How did he do his best to "throw it away?"
