John, it only worked because the pitch is enclosed. At Southlands you'd have been two pitches over like you were on Tuesday when you were trying your slide rule passes.

boroboy75 Posted on 6/5 13:47
re: footy at goals, 12/5 at 7:30

So let me get this straight.

The get-along gang play football at Southlands on a Monday, members only.
A lad who isn't a member organises a game at GOALS for those of similar status.
The get-along gang then infiltrate this event, and eventually take over.
How selfish can some people be?

captain5 Posted on 6/5 13:51
re: footy at goals, 12/5 at 7:30

You missed off the last bit.

The biggest tw4t on the board then sticks his nose into something he shouldn't, that if asked he says is of no concern to him.

Add me to the list

SidUK Posted on 9/5 14:16
re: footy at goals, 12/5 at 7:30

Personally, i think the lads that have played every week should get a place for a game before people that will be playing for the first time.

Hence BBB and Gravy get a place on the reserve list giving Erimus and Chris a place seeing as they've played regularly.

Just my opinion like, with us only having 1 x 6 a side pitch space is limited unlike Southlands on a Tuesday and preference should be given to regulars.

Esky_North_Stand Posted on 9/5 14:20
re: footy at goals, 12/5 at 7:30

I have an idea. . . why dont you book it for the 7 a side pitches.. . they are spot on i was on one yesterday, they arent as big as southlands but they really are good pitches

Just a thought

SidUK Posted on 9/5 14:23
re: footy at goals, 12/5 at 7:30

we thought about this a while ago but decided against it as we wanted to stay on the smaller pitch coz it's, pardon the pun, a totallt different ball game to a tuesday.

if enough people become interested then maybe we could book 2 pitches in the future.

It looks like I will be out of the midweek games for a while, I've got a new job but its nearly 3 hours away so I wont be back too much during the week.

So what I thought is I would like to play weekends.

I'm pretty much available from 6pm Friday to about 10pm Sunday. Would anyone else be up for playing at a weekend? Having started playing again I dont really want to stop again after a month.

If you could have a think and let me know if any of you could play and what your preference for times would be.

Obviously this sunday is a non starter.

Fao Sid - Tom is definitely still playing tomorrow and will be at the duck pond for seven. Cheers Mate.

no esky, i'll explain it if you like.

was in maths so had no acsess to the computers to see peoples numbers. i put the calculator in fix to 0 decimal places mode and then used the random number button. this gives out a random number between 0.000 and 1.000. i typed in 12*ran# and this gave out numbers between 0 and 12 as a result. the first 6 different random numbers out were the red team, and the remaining, the blue team.

That's why we hammered you.

shaun_84 Posted on 12/5 14:01
re: footy at goals, 12/5 at 7:30

I like the idea of being 1/6 of something that's 'far superior'

captain5 Posted on 12/5 14:03

I think planner had said you were.

Change the teams !!!

hawway esky, did you get out of the wrong side of bed half an hour ago

captain5 Posted on 12/5 14:05

Stop whinging and use your superior fitness levels to put us to the sword.

captain5 Posted on 12/5 14:12
re: footy at goals, 12/5 at 7:30

I'm pushing it time wise to get there (I'll be there, mind) so it's good to know I won't have to fannny around when I get there.

john_lillie Posted on 12/5 14:47
re: footy at goals, 12/5 at 7:30

hoof

sorry esky mate, i thought it made more sense to pick teams now so people know there colors. but it's nowt to do with me anyway.

SidUK Posted on 12/5 15:00
re: footy at goals, 12/5 at 7:30

i'm with esky on this one, Lillie you tool, those teams are w@nk.

if a few people take a spare top we'll sort teams out later, as it stands it's gonna be 23,000 - 0 to the non-reds.

Cap - stop saying you agree with the teams just coz you know you're onto at least a quad hat-trick if they stay as they are, dont you want at least a bit of a challenge???

captain5 Posted on 12/5 15:01
re: footy at goals, 12/5 at 7:30

Not twice in a week, though!!!!!!!!!1

I'm still knackered after Tuesday.

SidUK Posted on 12/5 15:04
re: footy at goals, 12/5 at 7:30

How? You did fcukall

Besides, i should be the one still knackered, weighing 36 stone and all that.......

john_lillie Posted on 12/5 15:06
re: footy at goals, 12/5 at 7:30

no, andy should be the knackered one, i didn't half clatter him.

captain5 Posted on 12/5 15:06
re: footy at goals, 12/5 at 7:30

I actually enjoyed it in a rather perverse way. Little Dave getiing injured when we already had a crock keeper was a bit of pain, mind.

Should be good tonight.

Goals has walls so Esky can't wander too far away from play.

SidUK Posted on 12/5 15:14
re: footy at goals, 12/5 at 7:30

andy actually said after tuesday that you were "a dead man on thursday" Lillie due to their being, as Cap states, solid walls surrounding the play area!!!

Bearing in mind this is a man who was:
A)banned from Soccer Sensations for 18 months for lamping a ref
and
B) banned from Southlands for 8 months for nutting a fellow player who decked him in not unfamiliar circumstances to you on Tuesday

I'd be slightly concerned if i was you

Be nice to me or i'll let him off his leash

John, what type of flowers do you want me to send, what type of music etc??

BTW - Kiwi was still gutted about the goal we got in the second game, especially when they showed the Chelsea goals and Gudjohnsen's chip over the keeper was more or less the same.

john_lillie Posted on 12/5 15:22

could this be the end to my glistening footballing talents?

SidUK Posted on 12/5 15:23

t'was a fine goal

shaun_84 Posted on 12/5 15:36
re: footy at goals, 12/5 at 7:30

I know, I've seen diagrams on beermats and reenactments with pints as defenders

captain5 Posted on 12/5 16:12
re: footy at goals, 12/5 at 7:30

Pints when I'm around move quicker than the actual defenders.

So whats the situation now that i have returned. . . what are the teams?

captain5 Posted on 12/5 16:58
re: footy at goals, 12/5 at 7:30

Anyway Briggsy, I haven't seen you play in ages.

Your year away in Italy should have you rejuvenated and I expect to see you put in the types of performances that you put in when you first broke through.

Hey, hang on.........

shaun_84 Posted on 12/5 16:59
re: footy at goals, 12/5 at 7:30

The same but we've now got Briggsy

micky_k86 Posted on 12/5 16:59
re: footy at goals, 12/5 at 7:30

Well I just came back about 15mins ago and it looks like we're back to "sorting it out when we get there".

Esky_North_Stand Posted on 12/5 16:59

No These teams need changing

captain5 Posted on 12/5 16:59
re: footy at goals, 12/5 at 7:30

We've agreed to change them Esky as long as you go in goal all game.

As Sid is far older than any of us *cough* he has taken responsibility and we'll sort out teams when we get there.

shaun_84 Posted on 12/5 17:02

Can I warn you that I'm still knacked in? I can't run and the thought of kicking a ball almost makes me cry.

Are you a man or a mouse, squeaky??

SidUK, can I be on the foul mouthed granny shagger's team please??

micky_k86 Posted on 12/5 17:05

I think I've got a broken foot, either that or it's slighty bruised.

I cleared the fence a couple of weeks back, which was fun. It was destined for the top corner before it left my foot!
