re: A CENTURY IN STONE - first Aussie dates!

Where's the name come from?

From what I've read it seems to be about building bridges and stuff. Why stone not steel?

craig_pancrack Posted on 16/6 12:07
re: A CENTURY IN STONE - first Aussie dates!

Mick - its about ironstone, where the steel came from, Eston mine was the world's biggest iron mine which underpinned Middlesbrough's rise to world iron and steel capital. The film focusses on the working class history and the miners in particular.

Any plans for taking it to New Zealand Craig?

craig_pancrack Posted on 17/6 0:07
re: A CENTURY IN STONE - first Aussie dates!

JAX - i'd love to show it in Auckland, as that bridge was made here right so why not. Do you live there and do you know any indie cinemas that would take it? Would people come and see it? Is there many expats form Teessdie area there? (heck how many questions?!)

re: A CENTURY IN STONE - first Aussie dates!

PNG - ive got 3 days for defo but have put in a request for 5, Friday is a tricky one to get and is more expensive to hire...the guy is getting back to me on it but he is one laid back dude and takes an age....if it was to take off big well we could maybe book more time at the end when we've done the other cities

jax_1 Posted on 17/6 0:44
re: A CENTURY IN STONE - first Aussie dates!

Naw Craig sorry I am a lot closer to home. However, I do have family over there. Am sure they and other ex- pat Teessiders would be pleased to see it. There must be hundreds of them.

Cheers chaps...its a once in a lifetime thing that we are gunna milk the hell out of, sell out Sydeny and then call Tyne Tees on the mobile from the top of the bridge and tell em to eat my shorts!!! And then demand that an ironwrkers monument is built at Middlehaven and Manhattan Gate is renamed Erimus gate!

jax_1 Posted on 17/6 1:44
