A SEAL was at the ticket office today!!!!!!!

and I'm not taking the piss..

If anyone has a website they can upload the pictures onto, then I'll email them to you and you can see for yourselves!!

Apparently it climbed out of the river at the East stand end, went up to the ticket office, which was shut, and then made it's way back to the water before the RSPCA arrived..

Odd, but true, not a joke..

re: A SEAL was at the ticket office today!!!!

I can believe this is true.

I worked there for about a year as bar and cellar staff with another full time lad and we used to stand and watch him in the river from the North West upper concourse corner windows and the furniture store windows up there beside the gents toilets.

We named him slappy and he was sort of our mascot. He would visit back in the days when we still sorted post match bottle bins by hand out the back of the north stand aswell.

Glad to know hes still out and about.

Lennon and McCartney would look at a news story like this and it'd inspire them to write a song about it...

I saw a seal today, oh boy,
About 3 foot long and one foot wide,
And though he shuffled rather slow,
Well, I just had to laugh.
I saw the photograph.

He ambled up to a shut door,
He didn't mind if he held the traffic up,
A crowd of people stood and stared,
He nodded graciously,
But sealy was more concerned he'd have to make another triiiip.

He'd love to go thuuuursday.

apparently the club have called the seal, Mendi

they claim something to do with a close cropped haircut

though seems a bit unfair on the seal when he displayed a canny ability to evade the people trying to catch him whereas Gaizka hasn't done that since November.

and only one of them has a club foot (hint, not Mendi)

re: A SEAL was at the ticket office today!!!!

Smoggy the Seal sounds better.
The club ought to capitalise on this idea... another mascot to join Roary and clap the team onto the pitch.

Great pictures, highlighting the problem the fans have known for a LONG time... the ticket office is never open when you want to buy a ticket. The look on his face says it all.

To all those that are not going tomorrow night- if this seal can make it to the ticket office, what's your excuse?

(Wonder if he was paying using his Goldfish card?)
