bandito Posted on 27/6 18:58

he's going through the weaning off the board process. I'll be starting mine soon aswell.

scoea Posted on 27/6 19:15
re: What on earth happened to SAS???

i don't think I've ever agreed with anything Sas ever posted but the board is a worse place without him.

Bandy - I spent a good few weeks away from the board because it irritated me too much given that it is ONLY a messageboard!!

I'm back now though. Any particular reason you're giving it up?

beeline Posted on 27/6 19:49
re: What on earth happened to SAS???

Probably because you can scroll down the page nowadays and not find a thread worth opening.

I blame pïss poor refereeing and and bad management. So why do I still pop on now and again? Probably because I'm a sad bästard with too much time on his hands!!!

Gillandi Posted on 27/6 19:49
re: What on earth happened to SAS???

This board is a mere bagatelle to him now he's found his dream job going door to door in Stevenage recovering Salmonella ridden chocolate.

Lisbonlegend Posted on 28/6 8:01
re: What on earth happened to SAS???

Don't do it Bandy, the only reason I post loads of drivel is to fill the gaps when you're not posting about panini stickers. If you go I'll have to fill the board up with even more rubbish and nobody wanst that to happen!

re: What on earth happened to SAS???

I'll still post but I'm past my sell by date. I feel like an uncle at a 17yr olds birthday party hanging round here.

Jan: Hmmm, I wonder who his girlfriend could be? Give us a clue...

captain5 Posted on 28/6 9:03

I'll second that and move out of the way before being deluged by the rest of the daytimers.

Where's shack, where's fisch, where's gillandi, where's borobuddah, where's the lizard..........they are the mature students of a very basic degree course in bull sh#t

Lisbonlegend Posted on 28/6 9:06
re: What on earth happened to SAS???

Past yo8ur sell by date? Reinvent yourself man. I've gone from hookers to poo to sausage rolls to half marathons. Come on man, don't give in, you're only as old as you feel.

Shut it captain, you love it really.

captain5 Posted on 28/6 9:08
re: What on earth happened to SAS???

Shack has finally faded away, Fischer's on all the time, gillandi is doing an airport run, buddah was on yesterday and Lizards was on last night in manager mode.

bandito Posted on 28/6 9:12

Yes I know captain but they've all lost heart.

bandito Posted on 28/6 9:15
re: What on earth happened to SAS???

I think there's a few on here who are seeing their careers out and going through the motions. In a nutshell, we have a few Ray Parlours on the board.

Lisbonlegend Posted on 28/6 9:16
re: What on earth happened to SAS???

Well they should join forces and make an attempt to reclaim the board. Some of the intelligent wit of old has been replaced with reactive slapstick and jousting. Maybe we could have a young vs old charity joust on FMTTM.

captain5 Posted on 28/6 9:17

In football parlance, we're 'in our prime'.

jeff_potato Posted on 28/6 9:25

So why was he banned? This ban list seems to have increased dramatically from the zero figure a couple of years ago.

captain5 Posted on 28/6 9:26

I think you'd have to ask boroboy75's_wife why sas got banned........

Ray Parlour, very good and on the button as always. Have you got a TOG T shirt yet?

bandito Posted on 28/6 9:27

Havent a clue why he was banned. Neither has he. Corrupt b iggins tried to explain that he wasnt banned but managed to get his undies in a twist.

Lisbonlegend Posted on 28/6 9:29
re: What on earth happened to SAS???

How strange, so does he look at the board at all now or is he locked in Planners wardrobe? The same think happened when Toots locked The_Fresh_Ponce away didn't it?

bandito Posted on 28/6 9:29
re: What on earth happened to SAS???

Blot: Excuse my ignorance, it's early but whats a TOG t shirt?

Captain: If he was banned for impersonating then that is an embarassment.

Terry´s (Wogan) Old Geezers, as if you didn´t know. But your right, we seem to be saying the same things over and over, but its hard to give up.

bandito Posted on 28/6 9:32
re: What on earth happened to SAS???

Aye, he's admin alright. I asked him about job satisfaction and what the perks were in being "admin". He said there wasnt any but someone has to do it, so I basically called him a mug and said he should go out and find a proper job. Havent seen him since.

bandito Posted on 28/6 9:33

I take it there wasnt much Estrella drank last night in Valencia Blot!

captain5 Posted on 28/6 9:34
re: What on earth happened to SAS???

Should be thankful for him really. With some of the cockends we get on here from other clubs, the board would be closed down for the 11 and a half months of the year when Rob is away, if it wasn't for the admin people.

'Interesting' group of people.

jeff_potato Posted on 28/6 9:36
re: What on earth happened to SAS???

Still don't understand why we're banning Boro fans for no reason. Sas didn't seem like a 15 year old who's been let loose on his Dad's computer.

bandito Posted on 28/6 9:37

It's common knowledge that persons in power abuse their position from tie to time

captain5 Posted on 28/6 9:38

grantus Posted on 28/6 9:39
re: What on earth happened to SAS???

My D-Day is not far off too. I come on here for a reasoned debate about football and the finer things in life and all I seem to get in return is argumentative drivel these days. I realise I'm running on borrowed time. It's a young man's game.

BoroTommo Posted on 28/6 9:41

Marlon_D Posted on 28/6 9:47
re: What on earth happened to SAS???

I've not been posting on this board for that long but I have found the following.

Their is a number of people who like to have "intelligent" debates, and I hasten to add I am not one of them, but their is also a number of people who take everything far too personally and forget that it is a surreal existence when you post on this board.

I just post to relieve the boredom of some work days basically.

rob_fmttm Posted on 28/6 9:49
re: What on earth happened to SAS???

Yes I was away last week - went to Mexico v Portugal; USA v Ghana; Spain v Saudi Arabia. Was so much better in every way than I had expected. Brilliant experience I would urge anyone with the chance just to go out match tickets or not and sample the party.

Lisbonlegend Posted on 28/6 9:51
re: What on earth happened to SAS???

I echo Marlons sentiments.

red_rebel2 Posted on 28/6 10:06
re: What on earth happened to SAS???

Peaks and troughs. The current malaise is as much to do with the comedown after Eindhoven as with the summer but things will pick up once we all start taking sides over Southgate.

That said, quality has definitly been undermined by quantity. The democratisation of cyber-space has it's downside. The board has been dumbed down but it is like satelitte TV: 600 channels of repeats, formulaic populist crap and soft porn but theer are always just enough football and educational, enlightening and brilliantly funny gems that you don't rip the dish off the wall.

Only the clique can save us now.

Aaahhh but we now come back to the age old question, who are the clique and more importantly will they admit they are in it ?

captain5 Posted on 28/6 10:29
re: What on earth happened to SAS???

The only members of the clique who don't admit they are in it are bandito, sasboro and boroboy75.

Which is strange, as boroboy75 is in charge of it.

captain5 comes back with his now well renowned double bluff.

How are you O' Grand Master <lifts left trouser leg> ?

red_rebel2 Posted on 28/6 10:32
re: What on earth happened to SAS???

Only 'the clique' can save the board because only the clique care enough to police it, nurture it and worry about the changing board culture.

If only they really existed.

Lisbonlegend Posted on 28/6 10:54

borobuddah Posted on 28/6 11:20
re: What on earth happened to SAS???

Oy Bandito, I haven't thrown the towel in yet, just no-one replies to me anymore.

It is, as Rob says more tedious in the summer, even with the world cup.

There are so many folks on the board that it's natural that groups form, some want to bang on about mating games, some about computer games.

We all have to pick and choose.

I'll have a row with yer whenevr you want, if it rekindles the passion.

blotonthelandscape Posted on 28/6 11:21

Marlon_D Posted on 28/6 11:29
re: What on earth happened to SAS???

I think all the old timers should congregate on one thread and have an almighty old fashioned dust up were you use long words and constantly contradict one another as you argue about things like "Was Rasputin's left bollox more left wing than he's right one"

Go on for old time's sake.

bandito Posted on 28/6 11:31
re: What on earth happened to SAS???

I think all the desperados looking for love should go speed dating and not bother with the board at all.

grantus Posted on 28/6 11:32
re: What on earth happened to SAS???

Apart from the occassional current affairs discussion, the only really interesting debates revolve around insights and opinions based on incidents at our beloved MFC.

The rest is slightly better than watching the majority of rubbish on the TV.

Like Rob says, it is always worse once the season is over.

We all have a shelf life on here though, surely everyone will hit the wall eventually, will realise that there's a better life and more interesting things and people out of the front door.

That's when we will shut it down and walk into the sunlight, out into tomorrow.
