Been closed a good couple of months now Craig, sorry if you've been ripped off - the sods. We were in Eldon Square last weekend and the one there was lit up although I couldn't see anyone inside.

re: Has SILVERSCREEN in the Boro closed down?

re: Has SILVERSCREEN in the Boro closed down?

I would imagine there would be a notice, there was on the gadget shop when they went into liquidation.

re: Has SILVERSCREEN in the Boro closed down?

I believe Silverscreen went into Administration in March and liquidated two months ago. As we know from MFC in 1986 a business can still trade in Administration, while the administrators decide what to do with it. If they decide its not viable its liquidated ie. everying is sold and creditors are given what is owed to them or a part payment or nothing at all if there is nothing to give back after the Inland Revenue/Customs and Exise have got theirs.

I did warn people when they were having a major sale that goods probably could not be taken back as they would not be there or exist.

Craig - Try and find out you who their liquidators are to get your excellent DVDs back or some of their value.

Apologies if I am trying to tell my Granny to suck eggs, but have you sold a DVD to every school/college in the Teesside/Cleveland region? The kids/young people can be a good advert to parents.

I know you tried the BBC - Have you contacted the History Channel/Discovery Sattelite Channels?

re: Has SILVERSCREEN in the Boro closed down?

cheers everyone....i'm gunna look into who the administrators / liquidators were/are.

RedWurz - cheers for the suggestion,schools/colleges etc. There is a very good chance of getting it National Curriculum Status if a teachers pack / guidelines come with it. Im starting on it soon with a couple of teachers. One for primary and one for comprehensive. Really every university and college in the country should have this and a ton of schools. It would make me a happy man i still have 3000 in the warehouse!

Oh and by the way(its not a tout for business or owt like)but i've put various promo / tv clips on youtube.

re: Has SILVERSCREEN in the Boro closed down?

Having had a quick look at the board before I dashed out earlier, I remembered to have a look for a notice on the windows when I went past and it said that the nearest branch is now in Sunderland, unit 18 of the shopping centre there. What I didn't of course remember was to take a pen and a bit of paper to write it all down.
Hope you get your dvd's back Craig.

re: Has SILVERSCREEN in the Boro closed down?

Craig - I suppose you have tried all the libraries.

Could you offer them a free copy and gain a rental every time they loan it out. I know there is a sort of similar system for books that are loaned out.

There are over 9000 secondary schools in the UK, my college sends a prospectus to them all every year. We have bought a databse of names and addresses and negotiated a special delivery rate with the Post Office.

re: Has SILVERSCREEN in the Boro closed down?

JAX - thanks, i will enquire with Sunlun store.

REDWURZ - Havent done any hiring out, counter productive really...in due course i'm sure that will happpen but hey if theres 9000 colleges, ill wait. Central and all the branch libraries in Mbro boro have been selling it since it come out.

Im not complaining here yknow...11,000+ have left the building... silverscreen have only ran off with 25...
