| Anybody listening to 6 Music now? | |
Phill Jupitus is interviewing the BMX Bandits and they've chosen a track for him to play - Norman Blake (from Teenage Fanclub) and Yeon Gene (Japanese singer, never heard of her!) singing 'Me, Japanese Boy', a little known Bacharach and David song. God, it was gorgeous. Tweeness incarnate but the loveliest three minutes I've heard for ages. Has anyone else heard it? | |

My pleasure. Is it just me, or has Jupitus become increasingly annoying over the last few weeks, particularly his little "uuuurghh" noises in a Bruce Forsyth stylee that he's started doing every 5 seconds? His playlists seem to be going down the pan too, although I thank him for introduicng me to calypso and Me First and The Gimme Gimmes. | |

I have mixed feelings about PJ. Sometimes I just can't bear to listen at all, but then he'll come out and surprise me and I forgive him for all his past demeanours. Whereas Lord Gideon of Coeville can do no wrong in my eyes. I lurve him. | |

I tried switching to Lauren Laverne on XFM for a while. I like her and she plays some good stuff, but there are so many adverts that you're lucky if you actually hear any music while you're in the shower. At least with PJ, you'll have something to listen to, even if it's an 8 minute long Grateful Dead B-side. | |

I love Lauren Laverne, however as GS says her XFM show is so full of ads that it renders it unlistenable. Im afraid, for DJ's who love their music, on 6 Music, then you cant get better than Sir Mark of Riley. | |

Thats how I discovered I liked Rufus, when he played Vicious World. For that I will always be grateful, as well as with Radcliffe for introducing me to most bands I love today through their graveyard shift shows, and before that their "Out on Blue Six" shows. | |

wow! the bmx bandits! my sister moved to bellshill not long ago, which triggered a bmx bandits revival in my house. don't suppose you have a recording of their live at the brackenrigg hotel album do you? i googled it and sadly the brackenrigg hotel has been knocked down, i rather liked the idea of duglas sitting propping up the bar, waiting for eugene and norman to pop in for a half... and as for lauren laverne, she was a right madam the night kenickie supported us, but i do have a rather grudging respect for her. she could do with some proper food though. | |
