F.A.O. Grumps

Hiya Grumps

Have you started on that book yet. If so, how have you found it?

I read the intro to it last night and found it made my eyes glaze over. I hope it picks up a bit, otherwise it will be heading binward before the end of the first chapter. Regardless of what punishment Mappy has in store for me

Hi Jax.

Found the book but not started reading it yet. I'll start next weekend when I'm off work. I'm working all this weekend so won't have much time to settle into a good reading session.

Fingers crossed we get a nice spot of weather so that you can sit in the garden and relax at the same time.
I wished I hadn't read the intro though, it's sort of put me off reading the thing now. I'll give it a bit more time before I wing it though.

Hope you find it ok.

re: F.A.O. Grumps

Looking forward to a good read Jax, as I said in the other thread I havn't enjoyed a good read for ages.
The only reading I've done recently was studying for a work related examination.

50 years old and still studying.

Managed to pass though with 96%,
stuffed it up the cocky younguns .
Mind you though, being their boss, failure wasn't an option I could contemplate.

Oh wow, congrats on the exam score Grumps, that's no mean feat in any exam. What exam was it though?
Can you remember what the last book you read was?

Institute membership relative to what I do.
Dont want to go into detail as I just enjoy the board for a bit of fun with fellow boro fans and like to stay incognito.

Last books I read were Schindler's Ark (film was Schindlers list)
and a few of the 'Sharpe' series (on TV starring Sean Bean)

Also 'Goodnight Mr Tom' as previously mentioned

I like the Sharpe progs on telly - Sean Bean is in them.

Schindlers Ark - I saw the film, very moving.

That's fine if you don't want to say specifically what your exam was in relation to, just glad for you that you passed it.

I have all sorts of books sat here waiting to be read, am hoping that there will be lots of chance to soak up some rays and catch up over the summer.
