Trunk Road

Has anything happened at the works today?

Part of the Trunk Road was blocked off when I went over that way but is cleared now.
Have I missed something?

re: Trunk Road

as i said before Jax, i take people as i see them - or see how they post.

people who start by slaggin people off are people i dont have time for.

jax_1 Posted on 16/7 23:20
re: Trunk Road

Well indeed Parmo, that's all you can do really.
It says more about them, than it does me, I think.

How are you today anyway?

ParmoMan17 Posted on 16/7 23:26
re: Trunk Road

I'm sound Jaxxy - hows u??

were you going towards Redcar or Boro on the trunk road?

jax_1 Posted on 16/7 23:32
re: Trunk Road

It was when I was heading over to Redcar. I'd gone along the A66 and some of that was being resurfaced, between South Bank and the trunk road but then the section of the Trunk Road that joins on with was ok but when I got to the next roundabout it was all closed off so had to come back up again.

ParmoMan17 Posted on 16/7 23:38
re: Trunk Road

was ok when i went past it - must have just been resurfcing

oh well - what you been up2 today then? anything nice?

jax_1 Posted on 16/7 23:41
re: Trunk Road

Mostly quiet - chores etc, then headed off to Redcar at about tea time, was lovely. Nice to be able to just walk about in this weather.

The road was ok coming back but it didn't look like it had had anything done to it at all.

Did you catch any rays today?

ParmoMan17 Posted on 16/7 23:46
re: Trunk Road

went to a hot air balloon display in redcar - had mini-me with me so didnt stay too long - sun was drainin both him and me - think i'm all golden brown now tho

jax_1 Posted on 16/7 23:50
re: Trunk Road

Were the balloons good, I saw the posters and thought it looked like there'd be some good ones. Did the little one like them?
I wish I could get a tan, I'll have to start going on the sunbeds again but more often to see if that works.

ParmoMan17 Posted on 16/7 23:54
re: Trunk Road

there were 4 there that i saw - 1 battery - 1 can of guniness - 1 box thing and 1 big glass of beer - oh that was so makin me want one!!

yeah - he was asleep tho after a few hours - bless him.

went on a fairground ride with my dad - he now knows i swear!

do you not tan easily?? are u quite a plain complextion - please say No - as thats another thing that would make me want to meet ya

jax_1 Posted on 16/7 23:58
re: Trunk Road

Poor kid, you wore him out

Was there only 4 balloons there? I thought there'd be loads more than that. Not good for parents to know you swear unless you hear them first

Yep, fair skinned sadly, I don't tan well at all. I thought my arm was going brown with having the car window open but when I compare it with other peeps, it's not looking too hopeful.

ParmoMan17 Posted on 17/7 0:04
re: Trunk Road

best thing to do is wear him out - it's either him or me!!

i was saddened that there were only 4 - and they didnt fly either - would have liked to taken him on one!

ive heard worse from my dad - would never swear in front of my mam tho!

Dont worry about gettin a tan - fair skinned is far nicer!

ive got a ring mark now like - so must have caught it over the last few weeks!!

jax_1 Posted on 17/7 0:09
re: Trunk Road

How old is mini-you?

I can imagine it would be disappointing to only see 4, the posters gave the impression that there would be loads, I thought. Not sure I'd have liked to go in one though so you are obviously far braver than me.

Fair skin is ok sometimes but it would be nice, just once to have a tan.

ParmoMan17 Posted on 17/7 0:14
re: Trunk Road

he is 3 and a half - but already well cheeky!!

makes me so proud tho - it's sweet

yeah - posters made me think they would a lot more.

would you never do that?? i think it would be ace

i would love to use that as a date! - certainly different - maybe not the first one tho

i love fair skin - always have - but see ur point - get a spray on tan and just try and top it up?

jax_1 Posted on 17/7 0:24
re: Trunk Road

LOl I know my luck, if I went for a spray tan, it would all end up in one place or would look streaky or something.

I've seen adverts/ programmes where they've gone over the game reserves at dawn in one, maybe that would be good, but it's the heights thing. Am not at all keen on heights

Mini- you, will have you run ragged most of the time I should think. They seem to have an endless supply of energy at that age, though obviously you managed to find out how to take his batteries out today. What else does he like to do? He'll be starting school soon won't he?

I'd never have dared swear near my dad, don't think I ever heard him swear to be honest.

Boro_Gadgie Posted on 17/7 0:28
re: Trunk Road

"Am not at all keen on heights"

At 5 foot tall, I don't suppose you would be.

(BTW, I'm only 5 foot 4 and I get vertigo stood on a chair to change a light bulb)

ParmoMan17 Posted on 17/7 0:33
re: Trunk Road

you cant be that unlucky?? can you??

i'm s**t scared of heights but would love to do that - and yeah -a safari in one would be brilliant.

he is at nursery now - starts school in a year and a half - but he can just go for hours!! likes being on his bike and scooters - and of course Footy - good lad!

think it was the sun today that wiped him out - cos it did the same to me

what you enjoy doing then?? to chill out??

jax_1 Posted on 17/7 0:35
re: Trunk Road

Ah glad I'm not the only one Gadgie. I have to use steps to change mine. That's one good thing about those low energy bulbs, you don't have to change them too often. Decorating is the worst though. Hard to hang wallpaper with your eyes closed

jax_1 Posted on 17/7 0:54
re: Trunk Road

Do you think you'd be able to overcome the heights thing to have a balloon ride Parmo, I'm not so sure I could but the ride over a nature reserve might just tempt me to try it.

Is he not starting school til he is 5? Bikes, scooters and footy sounds good, plenty of action there. Is he showing any early promise?

Yeah could have been the sun wiping him out, we're not used to heat here are we? it would be nice to be a bit more practiced with the heat.

For chilling, reading has to come high up the list, depends really. Do you read?

ParmoMan17 Posted on 17/7 0:58
re: Trunk Road

yeah - think i'd try it!

would you be able to see over the basket tho Jaxxy?? he he

He is a good little player - always picks it up tho - but he's learning - suits kits too - although the doesnt have the new ones yet.

I read sometimes - autobiagrohies usually - and docu books - about wars / titanic etc

jax_1 Posted on 17/7 1:00
re: Trunk Road

I like autobiogs too, last ones I read were the Gervais Phinn things I think, not sure you can count those really though. The last proper one was the guy who invented Bagpuss, Oliver Postgate. That was quite interesting.
I've just started Songbird, mappy recommended but I don't think I'm going to enjoy that. Have a few Pratchetts waiting though, looking forward to those.

re: Trunk Road

I've read a few of his and mostly enjoyed them. The Shining was excellent, I don't think the film did it any justice at all though.
The last stuff of his i took any notice of were the mini series last year. I think one was Rose Red or something like that. The other was Kingdom Hospital which was good but confusing.
