"The wreck of the Arthur Lee Will never return again" I never understood what that song was about.

A sad loss. I suggest that in his honour, the adverb 'arthurly' is created. --- Post edited by eugene_schlumberger on 4/8 9:30 ---

That's sad. Forever Changes is one of my fave records. Bob Harris will be shedding a tear too.

Love in Leeds three years (?) ago is one of my top five favorite gigs ever, and 'Forever Changes' is one of the greatest albums ever made.

It is indeed and should be in every collection. It is also one which is regularly in the three for twenty quid rack at HMV and the like so you can't even plead poverty.

Very sad news. Just playing "Forever Changes" again to remember how great it is. The latest CD versions have another 7 bonus tracks - demos/alternate takes/ new songs. Just look at the titles and you can tell which decade it was made. For example: "Maybe the people would be the times, or between Clarke and Hilldale" or "The good humour man, he sees everything like this" It must have been good stuff that LSD....

RIP The Vindicator. A little known fact - he actually taught Hendrix how to play the guitar when his mother used to look after him. I almost failed my degree because I stayed over in Paris to see him 1992ish instead of going back to Uni and handing a project in. I'd been a fan of his for years and not just because Mike Reid liked Forever Changes. I'd had every album since I first heard a compilation in 1984. I couldn't believe I hadn't heard of him. Most people thought he was dead and all of a sudden he turns up in Paris playing to a small hall that held about a 100 people. He was that out of it he had to be held upright by the compare and a roadie so that he wouldn't fall over when plaing the harmonica during Signed DC. His sunglasses kept falling off and they kept putting them back on. 12 years or so later he'd cleaned his act up and he was playing the Royal Albert or Festival Hall or wherever it was. Does anyone know what did he die off?
