Our Lass

Does anybody else find this term totally offensive?

re: Our Lass

Not offensive, I tend to call my wife by by her name.

Is it my fault she's called shitforbrains?

re: Our Lass

Could you imagine if 'your lass' was to call you 'Our Lad'? How insulting would that be?

re: Our Lass

I just get called 'the boy' i'd worry if she called me our lad.

re: Our Lass

Yeah, I don't like it at all, and I have never, and probably will never, say 'our lad'.

re: Our Lass

Funny really, all of my girlfriends really liked me calling them my lass. None of them wer from Teesside though. Only one was English.

Maybe the dislike for it is a local thing.

re: Our Lass

doesn't bother me at all. i remember a lot of our ex-lad's, mates didn't know what my real name was!

i think it's quite funny and sweet.

re: Our Lass

Why not just call her by her name instead of trying to be 'laddish'?

re: Our Lass

People call each other baby, babe, woman, man, lad, lass, darling, sweetheart, princess, etc.

Dont worry about it.

Hmmmmm - I remember my first boyfriend using the term and thinking - eurgghhhhh......

Now I opt for the sofistiation of brummies or welsh men

re: Our Lass

Why do some blokes call their other half, 'the missus' when they aren't married?

chris_white_22 Posted on 7/8 12:23
re: Our Lass

Will often refer to the missus as "the missus" and "our lass", ususally when talking to somebody who wouldn't necessarily know her, like on here.

Oh, and we're not married - but I use "missus" as it implies a longer relationship...thats my excuse anyway.

Our Lass hates it when I refer to her as that
