| Decent places for camping around the area? | |
There's a few of us planning a little camping do next weekend, i'm just trying to think of somewhere to go. We don't really wanna go to any official campsite as they're full of rules on noise and whatnot. We won't be trashing the place or anything, just want a nice quiet place out in the sticks where we can have a good crack, decent fire/bbq, have a few beers and get stoned with no hassle from landowners/police etc. A little lake or river wouldnt go a miss either, but doesnt really matter. Christ it reads like i'm appyling to rent a house! Any ideas? Rough directions would be great too. Ta, Gaz

Rosedale Abbey camp site is brilliant, was up there for Englands game against Portugal, atmosphere was great on the site, plently of bbq's and beer and people still partying till the wee hours with no bother, village has a couple of pubs that do bar meals to, and there is also a river for fishing etc on the site.

Go to the Strathmore Arms, in Holwick nr Middleton-in-Teesdale. Free camping, behind a great pub. And it's not far from Low Force, with High Force being a bit futher up the Tees.
