Other towns DO have parmos - there is a takeaway in Newcastle called Parmo Palace, and also the City Takeaway sells them.

Looks like I was a bit wrong about Prets

None of Damits list are in Hereford, except Starbucks.

Lots of other posters may claim that but you can't find a post from me which claims it. I'm interested in a lot of teams and I'd much rather you guys did well than teams of similar league strength and potential.

As for the same old boring response, admittedly you have heard that remark 1000s of times before but the original post/question was far too good to let it pass. One of you guys would definitely have responded on a similar post on the Newcastle board, no?

In a word, no. Simply because its so easily disproved. The other stereotype/cliche that gets thrown your way is a lot harder to disprove and therefore a lot more offensive in my humble opinion as its also a very real problem, not just in Boro but everywhere sadly. If it was true that people in and around the Tees area had a disproportionately high ratio of fingers:hands, I wouldn't have mentioned it. If it makes you feel any better though, I can certainly post the insult for you...

Trains that run in sewers I think the cockneys call it the underground.

2 years ago I would have said Nando's and subway but we are starting to catch up a little now.

Just a point, under the old boundary system, everything south of the river was yorkshire and hence middlesbrough, so technically, Tesside Park, The Barrage are all part of the Boro.

For Food

There is a decent spanish restaurant in Billingham.

For japanese, although not in Boro there is fujiyamas on the Marina in Hartlepool.

Yeah we are short on a few decent food places. We could do with a couple of good tapas and sushi restaurants.

Someone said earlier in the post that we didn't have a swimming pool, well I can think of three!

Isn't Etsuko (spelling?) next to Nando's a Japanese restaurant? Bloke I know in London with a Japanese wife certainly thought it was, because he asked me what it was like.

My definition is Boro Town Centre, so Teesside Park, Saltersgill, Linthorpe Village are more like the Boro area.

Boro Bus station is modern compared with most towns. Its 100% covered and heated as far as I know with seperate departure points for coaches and buses. It is 24 years old now mind you.

Anyone noticed that people in the Boro are a little shorter than some other parts of the country?

I like how you can speak to people you don't know in the Boro, without them thinking you want to rob or molest them. I know there are a few exceptions.
