re: Who's doing the 10K run on Sunday?

From Acklam Road, turn left at the Bluebell, left at Stewarts Park, left at Belle Vue, straight down to Acklam Road again. I think.

re: Who's doing the 10K run on Sunday?

Get yourself out to watch it captain, it was great last year.

Weren't you supposed to be doing it anyway?

captain5 Posted on 15/9 15:35
re: Who's doing the 10K run on Sunday?

Bit short a distance for me, I'm afraid.

I play football every Sunday morning, plus I'm trying to do all the home and away games before Christmas and when the app forms came out I didn't know whether we'd be playing on Sunday or not.

AtomicLoonybin Posted on 15/9 15:37
re: Who's doing the 10K run on Sunday?

God that's almost plausible, Cap'n.

Almost.

Isn't Fischer or Lady Fischer doing it?

My number arrived yesterday - looking forward to it.

re: Who's doing the 10K run on Sunday?

What a rubbish excuse Captain - I only applied 2 weeks ago. FW2 told Harry and me we were leaving it late and that forced my hand
... 2 weeks later.

Of course I entered far too late - did one 6 mile training run and knacked my leg - was out of action for 10 days. I read about Boateng's 10 day rest went for it again on Wednesday and ... knacked myself again. So Sunday should be more of a challenge especially as you have to put the number on with safety pins - I'm bound to draw blood.

re: Who's doing the 10K run on Sunday?

Myself and Reg Perrin are doing it.

Although saying that, my number and the little tag thing have been delivered to my London abode, and I've been in Teesside / Leeds all week, so I'll have to find out if I can get a replacement.

Look out for me, I'll be the one in the ambulance, with breathing aparatus.

jo290204 Posted on 15/9 16:18
re: Who's doing the 10K run on Sunday?

Nope - but did the Robin Hood Half-marathon last week.

Good luck to all doing the 10k, hope the weather is kind! It's a nice flat route at least.

re: Who's doing the 10K run on Sunday?

Can you do on the day applications for this? I've been meaning to apply for the last 2 weeks but never got round to doing it

john_b Posted on 16/9 11:24
re: Who's doing the 10K run on Sunday?

I think you can turn up on the day to do the 3k fun run.

I've twisted my back last night and can't run, but I'm planning on still walking round the 10k course at a very leisurely pace if anyone fancies coming for a Sunday morning stroll ?

re: Who's doing the 10K run on Sunday?

Have just realised that it will be about a 10k walk to the start line as well. Better set off straight after Match of the Day.

re: Who's doing the 10K run on Sunday?

A big well done to Uncle Harry and Rob for barrelling round in quick sharp time and getting home for Sunday lunch. A big well done to my mate Tony who cracked 45 minutes. A HUGE thank you for those bystanders who clapped, cajoled and encouraged the stragglers as well as the assorted marshalls and ambulance people who attended to the weak and feeble.

A really well organised event and let's hope every year it becomes a bigger and better item on the Teesside agenda.

Someone had to come last.

re: Who's doing the 10K run on Sunday?

Yeah well done everyone - was a mega event I thought. Was amazing to be in the middle of all that clatter of trainers on tarmac. And all the happy smiling faces waving and encouraging from the sidelines. A real buzz and as John says superbly organised. Well done for getting round John with your back injury. Hope you are not suffernig too much.

I bet I won't be able to move tomorrow - good excuse for not moving perhaps.

re: Who's doing the 10K run on Sunday?

Got round in just over 42 minutes (took me 44 last year) and more importantly raised over £200 for the British Lung Foundation. Although I've not totted it up, I'm hoping it'll be nearer to the £250 mark, so I'm quite chuffed.
