Tonight I had my first proper fight ever, most people's are in the playground, mine I'd been training for months for and was first on an amateur kick boxing bill in front of 200 people in Sheffield. I had been sh_itting bricks for months thinking about it. Went straight from work got weighed in then put my gear on, warmed up by punching pads, from then until the last round the memory is a bit hazy. The adrenaline numbed my senses to everything: I'm told my opponent had the best of the first round then the second round was even with me getting the crowd going a bit sticking a few knees in and being constantly told to break by the ref as we were only allowed to clinch for 2 seconds. In the third round I found some energy from somewhere and unleashed a flurry of kicks and punches that sent him to his knees and had his face p_issing with blood, I thought I'd won but he went down for an 8 count then got up, stumbled to his corner where the paramedic decided he'd had enough. Victory. After the fight I discovered I had a bleeding nose and I can't really walk properly from being kicked so much but it was worth it. --- Post edited by Cobain_94 on 16/9 1:47 --- | |

Why immediately after your first "fight" are you on a MFC messageboard? If I was as hard as you and won my first fight I'd be out getting smashed and possibly looking for practice. | |

Fascinating stuff, Cobain. I've only seen kickboxing once and thought it was far more brutal than normal boxing. You will soon have legs like gnarled oak roots if the ones I saw were typical examples. Well done and good luck with future bouts. | |
