FAO Gillandi

Howdy. Seen this?

Friday 27th October @ the Cornerhouse:

Johnny Cash is an American Icon. The last great rebel kicking against the pricks until the final curtain fell. Keep It Cash are keeping the legend alive in a stunningly authentic way, gaining an enviable reputation on the national circuit as the number 1 Cash tribute.
As seen on BBC TV and Radio One, Keep It Cash were also chosen by 20th Century Fox to play the opening night of Walk The Line.
Way back in 2005 we almost christened Fridays at The Cornerhouse "The Johnny Cash Club" but went for the name SUMO at the last minute! We suggest cowboy hats as an essential bit of kit for this full live Cash experience and western themed night of tomfoolery!

re: FAO Gillandi

Thats very interesting FW2 ta...no, i'd never seen it, think i'll mosey on along.

Last month I persuaded a couple of buddies (including your man Ron Dixon) to check a band at the Buffs on a friday night calling themselves "Men In Black," who turned out to be nothing of the sort. Sharp got our £1.60's back after the singer announced they were going to be covering everyone from Frankie Valli to Robbie Williams.

Wonder if these dudes need a DJ? Hope they allow folks from the crowd to get up and do a turn.

Only if you've got your leather chaps on.

How long till MsCurly's radar pings and she's on this thread?

re: FAO Gillandi

Don't, you may inhibit the good lady.

A cowboy boot ain't a cowboy boot unless it's got a hole in the sole mind. £30 to fix mine!!?? Cheaper to put a bit of nut cutlet in there.

What did you think of Stiff Records Night on Beeb 4? The Boro accent has changed in the last 30 years hasn't it? The lust for rock n roll related love hasn't though.

Hafter'noon partner

If you go to the parkway centre in coulby, theres a coblers in there ran by Ian Black. Ask for Blackie, tell him Stu sent you and I'm sure he will do you a deal. He's a good (if mad) bloke.

Must get back to punchin' some cows

"daisy, are you calling my pint a half ?"

That lady ain't for no inhibiting!

My DMs need re-soling and I am reliably informed that there is a bloke in Doggy who does it. Probably cheaper to buy a new pair but I've had these for fifteen years and they're lovely and squidgey now.

And now you'll have me thinking of Stan Laurel and the dog pinching meat off the sole of his shoe all afternoon. Marvellous.

Missed the Stiff stuff. Sure it'll be on again though, I must try harder to stay awake of an evening.

I was just thinking mine must be a few minutes slow.

Supposing thats a ladies prerogative.

What state are your loafers in Curly? Have they got a hoedown on the aforementioned date left in 'em?

Unfortunately Cleet I'm a fairweather country gal.

Only well turned out spike heels for me, I'm afraid.

Thanks for pointing that out Ms2....if I'm not working that night I'll definitely be trying to get a piece of that action.

(I'm talking about the lovely gillandi by the way, if I manage to catch the show too it will be a bonus).

I'm feeling a bit green and hairy now, I'll leave you two in peace.

(But I am available to be matron of honour and have two beautiful bridesmaids and a cute page boy ready and waiting.)

Look what you made her go and do FW2...i'm all a blushing now.

Her name is June (Carter) and very, very soon, she'll belong to me, (I hope) for I know, she'll be singing Jacksonville right on key.

Commi - Thanks for the tip, thats the first time I've ever appreciated you talking cobblers.
