bobstermarley Posted on 4/10 16:05
re: anybody openly gay on this site

Capio - I can't bear the Wizard of Oz, so that's one myth discounted.

I'll dispel a few more for you while I'm on:

1. I can't stand musicals - or indeed anything involving Andrew Lloyd Webber, Stephen Sondheim, Cameron Macintosh etc etc

2. Whilst I have extremely broad taste in music, I've never danced to "It's Raining Men" or "You Make Me Feel (Mighty Real)" in a gay bar, or anywhere else for that matter. Why would I? They're rubbish.

3. In an identity parade, I would NOT be the one wearing the pink shirt or the lemon coloured jumper - regardless of whichever "designer" name it has emblazoned on it. I'm far more comfortable in my extensive collection of Stone Island tops and jackets that come in varying degrees of black and grey.

4. I DO have a lot of female friends, however I do not have a fag hag. I have more straight male friends than anything else.

5. I do NOT mince around gay bars drinking bottles of alco pops. I'm much happier in a proper boozer with a pint of real ale and a large single malt chaser.

6. My life does not evolve around the so-called "gay scene", in fact, I can count on one hand the number of times I've actually been in to a so-called "queer friendly" establishment.

7. I have been with my other half for nearly three years now. We've just bought our first house together and on Sunday, I'm proud to say that we've both been asked to be god parents to our best friends youngest daughter, so we have a christening to go to. Terribly family centric, which of course my so-called "lifestyle choice" should preclude me from, allegedly.

8. I do not have "predatory tendancies" towards unsuspecting heterosexual males, so don't worry lads, you've got nothing to worry about and don't flatter yourselves either.

Contrary to popular belief, my life is very sensible and "normal", probably as sensible and normal as anybody elses on here. The fact that I fancy blokes - and I mean blokes as well, I have no time whatsoever for mincing scene queens and androgenous little pretty boys - is one tiny facet of who I am.

I post on here cos I'm a Boro supporter, like everybody else is - apart from when the geordie wind up merchants deign to put in an appearence. I'm also a Red Book holder. The fact that I'm also gay is utterly irrelevant.

grantus Posted on 4/10 16:06

Just another myth I'll dispel whilst we're at it.

Next.

Hello bobster, how's things?

Got any info on young Charlie yet? Photos? Hope he's inherited his mammy's looks and not his daddy's.

Oh, and do you know that Martin Stephenson and the Daintees are doing a couple of Christmas gigs at the Cluny in December (oddly enough)?

Lisbon - I don't need to make myself look butch.

grantus Posted on 4/10 16:52
re: anybody openly gay on this site

For the record, I did not ask fonz or humper if I could touch them. Humper said he would have me if he could, which I found suprising to say the least. I told him I'm not that way inclined and that was the end of it.

Afternoon FW_2 - how's tricks? Yup, Mat sent me a message of the young un through on Saturday. He's the spitting image. If you post an email addy I'll send it on to you.

The Daintees are touring? I'm on for some of that.

Oh and gay couples trying to adopt kids is just plain wrong!!! The poor kids. Apart from that what they get upto in the bedroom has nothing to do with me nor with anyone else.

The Daintees are playing the 14th and 15th I think - we've got tickets for the Friday night.

And thanks for the offer but there is NO WAY I am posting my email address on here! I'll email him in a couple of weeks and demand photographic evidence. Aw, it's enough to make one feel broody...

My brother in law is gay and is great with kids CoSG.

He and his partner would make very good parents. Apart from being pissheads.

re: anybody openly gay on this site

I don't need curing of anything.

Thanks for the offer though.

My existence is just as valid as yours, the contribution I make to society is just as valid as yours.

If you want to take it down a religious road, which is where these debates always end up, if someone purports to being a Christian, then one of the fundamental doctrines of Christianity is the belief in god the creator. If you follow it to that extreme, then god created me, in just the same way as he created you.

I know but its just not right. A child shouldnt have it forced upon them in my opinion. Its not the norm and i think it would have a dtrimental effect on the child.

Lisbonlegend Posted on 4/10 17:03
re: anybody openly gay on this site

God doesn't exist. Are you gay just cos no women fancy you and it was easy to cop off with an equally as ugly mate?

grantus Posted on 4/10 17:03
re: anybody openly gay on this site

Did I. Oh, well, we'd all had a few. If I did, I was doing it to demonstrate that he was potentially gay, due to his nervous glances and over the top denials at being called gay himself.

As a teenager / young man, the World is a very exciting place full of different flavours to be tasted. That doesn;t mean that all adventurous folk are gay. If I was then fine, thing is I happen to not be.

We'd all like to prance about in spandex to the Scissor Sisters, but that's just not the real world is it?

And bob, it's quite obvious that you are a straight man pretending to be gay in order to appear more interesting. Every man and his bob knows all gays mince.

Lisbonlegend Posted on 4/10 17:04
re: anybody openly gay on this site

Ask my parents, they'll tell you, the world was a safer place before they started letting homosexuals roam around freely.

I agree with grantus, a little experimentation does no harm. Infact in 1974 I started experimenting with cannabis.
I will be posting my results sometime in the near future.

bobstermarley Posted on 4/10 17:10
re: anybody openly gay on this site

No, I wont' stop you. You have your opinion and you're entitled to it, in just the same way as I am.

I can't understand how you can hate something which doesn't effect your life in any way, shape or form. Why be bothered?

'My existence is just as valid as yours'

Judging by this thread I think you could aim a little higher bobster, I really do.

Lisbonlegend Posted on 4/10 17:12
re: anybody openly gay on this site

Course it's a recreational activity but if you can't be bothered to put in the hard work and have a baby with a woman why should you be allowed to take someone elses after they've put in all the effort?

So you just bum for fun?

SplendidStuff Posted on 4/10 17:13
re: anybody openly gay on this site

'take someone elses' haha, its called adoption not theft.

Lisbonlegend Posted on 4/10 17:14
re: anybody openly gay on this site

Of course it affects me, I had a mate at work who turned out to be a gay and then he said he was in love with me. Get a grip FFS you big pansy.

riverboat_captain Posted on 4/10 17:15
re: anybody openly gay on this site

Bob, perhaps the sight of a 16.5 stone man trotting through the streets in shorts would be the cure.

There is nothing wrong with a gay couple offering a good home to an unwanted baby.

Lisbonlegend Posted on 4/10 17:17
re: anybody openly gay on this site

I am glad that at least you respect my opinion. I have a lot of hatred for homosexuals, they annoy me, I don't know why but the thought of it makes me very angry and I can't explain why. I know it's not politically correct but this is the way I feel and nothing I have expereinced thus far has made me change my mind.

bobstermarley Posted on 4/10 17:21
re: anybody openly gay on this site

Why on earth do you think I would possibly want to bring up a child?

I'm quite happy with life the way it is thanks though saying that, I'm a nominated legal guardian of a friends 2 kids and should anything disastrous happen to them the kids come and live with us. They have no issue with my sexuality, why should you?

They've actually CHOSEN me and my other half to be the people their own flesh and blood come to should anything happen to them. Not their blood relatives, not their parents, us.

When I asked them why, they said they just knew that we'd look after the kids, bring them up right, always tell them the truth and educate and nurture them. What more do you want from parenting?

bobstermarley Posted on 4/10 17:25
re: anybody openly gay on this site

But why should it annoy you Lisbon? Sod political correctness, this is about people, about individuals. Some people seriously get on my wick - Phil Collins and Mariah sodding Carey for starters - but there's nowt I can do about them, apart from arranging for assasination, which back in the real world, isn't going to happen.

You can't just lump everyone together under the label "sexual orientation" and assume that all people who share a similar sexual orientation behave and act in the same way, cos that's just nonsense.

Lisbonlegend Posted on 4/10 17:26
re: anybody openly gay on this site

mufflar, is that what your new ladies underwear is called.

Bobster - Maybe they're just being politically correct and really they don't like you at all.

Bobster, you're so gracious I'd bum you myself if I was gay. You remind me of Will Young, I hate Will Young.

Lisbonlegend Posted on 4/10 17:28

Bob, I bet they read the Guardian andf that you can't move for back issues of Mens' Health, OK Magazine and pug dogs round your house.

There was also that incident with the lady boy, but that was a totally innocent mistake.

Course you are capio, what's you other username? Jax_1? Roooooolllll Caaaaaalllllll.....Bow to the king.

Bobster, you've stood up in the face of adversity, taken your thrashing like a man and maintained your dignity throughout, unlike myself. Withstanding the fact that you're batting for the wrong side, I'll say we'll agree to disagree. You're alright with me. As long as you don't wear ladies underwear, now that's really wrong, unless you're a lady of course.
