| Viduka out for 6 weeks | |
Sorry if it's old news: SKY SPORTS: An x-ray on Tuesday revealed the Australia international had suffered a break, and he will now not play a part for Gareth Southgate's side until the turn of December at the earliest. Viduka started Sunday's Tyne-Tees derby, but was substituted at half time. Southgate confirmed: "It's disappointing for Mark and disappointing for the team because he was starting to get his sharpness back "But injuries are part and parcel of the game so we have to live with it "What Mark's injury does is open up opportunities for other people. It's up to those players to take them." Added responsibility will now fall on the shoulders of Yakubu Aiyegbeni and Jason Euell to provide Boro's goals and sustain the club's recent upturn in form.

Bad timing for Vids, he'll be back before Christmas this time.

Got a real dilemma now. I'd like to see us persevere with the current 442 we are playing, so in that case the obvious choice is to give Maccarone a run alongside Yakubu. But on the other hand 451 has been a favoured formation of mine, so we could switch back to that for Man City. Although in that case Morrison would have to come back in for Cattermole, but I think Cattermole deserves his place. Be interesting to see what he comes up with.

I think I'd prefer to see Euell continue alongside Boateng though.

Big Shot Euell will play up front with the Yak, not Massimo ! Euell is proven at premiership level and will do a decent job (with Massimo coming on as sub) while the Duke is out. I thought against the Mags Euell was out of his depth against 2 centre midfielders who could pass it and hold onto it in butt and parker (although they done little with the ball) and Boateng looked on his own as Euell struggled to create anything in the 1st Half. Put Euell upfront while the Duke is out and if Massimo does really well if/when he comes on as sub then give him a full game (maybe at home to w.ham) I'm saying this because Massimo has had plenty of chances....then again..that was under SMC ...who couldnt instill confidence in anyone !!!

I couldn't really care less about Maccarone to be honest, I'd have binned him long ago. But Jason Euell isn't a striker, might have been in the past but not anymore. So I think with Euell being a central midfield, and it being the position he was signed to play, he would be better in that position and he has shown that he gets forward from that position to support the strikers, unlike Rochemback, so I'd prefer Euell to Rochemback alongside Boateng.

I'd go back to 4-5-1, two away fixtures in a row, so can play the same/similar team. I'd play the same front six as last year at City (I think) ......Cattermole..Boateng..Rochemback Morrison........................Downing ................Yakubu
