i am looking to get a new tv in time for xmas,i have no idea what hdtv is all about,can anyone give me any tips as to what specs i should be looking for/at. aiming to spend between 1500 to 2000 pounds.

Make sure it is "HD Ready" and avoid "HD compatible".

MSV are having an exhibition at the riverside this weekend 9am-5.30pm.looks like they have some decent offers on. free 5 year warranty on anything over 26 inch etc.

will be having a look myself,they were quite helpfull when i bought my last tv.

We got a 42 inch Panasonic Viera a couple of weeks ago and it is fantastic, the picture quality is second to none.
