He turned up on one of Lisbon's threads one night - he mentioned about a pub crawl he'd just been on round London, told a vaguely amusing joke and then disappeared. I had the impression he wouldn't have passed a breathalyser test. | |

I'd assumed that as he disappeared around the time of the latest Israel-Lebanon conflict, he had gone off to volunteer to join the beleagured Israeli forces in their plucky attempt to resist the military might of the Hezbollah irregulars. | |
