re: FAO Fastcakes

Did I get to it?

I was the guest of honour!

Seriously, yes, I was there. It was well attended, over 200 packed into the exhibition space. Pauline and Robert were there from Penetration, and Bugsy from the Spacefrogs, and even Peter Howard from Big G. Live music came from the Noise Toys and The Bulbs.
Probably about 25% of the exhibition is from my own archives, including posters, records, fanzines, ticket stubs, photographs, scrap books etc.
Pauline said that appearing in a museum made her feel old, but that she was glad that her band had made a lasting impact on the local punk scene.
Inspired by the event, I have decided to expand the Teesside Band Archive idea (link below), there's a lot of work to do but I hope it will soon become an interactive resource for local bands and their fans.
The PUNK76! exhibition runs until the end of January at The Discovery Museum in Newcastle. Its easy to find, go over the Redheugh bridge, follow the road bearing right and signs for the museum are on the left (park in the Blandford Square car park)
