Teesside Band Archive

Just thought I would share what progress has been made in the development of the "Teesside Band Archive". I have written a mission statement, and detailed some aims and objectives:

MISSION STATEMENT/AIMS AND OBJECTIVES
The TBA's purpose is to act as an information resource and a hub to facilitate the dissemination of news, views and music of bands and musicians from Teesside and the surrounding area.

The site will have:
BAND/MUSICIAN BIOGRAPHIES
An A-Z list of all local bands and musicians, past and present, with selective discographies, notable achievments, complete with entries of individual musicians cross-referenced to the bands.

DIRECT LINKS TO MP3'S OF LOCAL BANDS and MUSICIANS
Including a dedicated "soundclick" site, with myspace, music forte etc sites also linked.

DIRECT LINKS TO PICTURE GALLERIES OF LOCAL BANDS and MUSICIANS
Including a dedicated webshots site.

DIRECT LINKS TO OTHER WEBSITES
dedicated to local bands and musicians.

An active "news" page with current activities involving local bands and musicians.

FORUMS
A comprehensive forum structure with sections for upcoming gigs, musicians wanted by bands and musicians seeking bands, band history, trivia etc.

Any constructive suggestions would be welcome.

Thank you.

I would like to point out that I have just composed the mission statement. The actual site hasn't been developed yet. There needs to be a process of consultation, together with a gathering of information, before I can move to the next level.

The vast majority of local bands are not featured yet, because no one knows about the site yet. That is why I am posting, to spread the word, so to speak.

Have put a piece in next month's issue of Link:Keeping It LIve - asking bands to get in touch and briefly outlining what it is about and using your words the possibilities.

Good luck with it.
