How big is a 'Block'?

As in the American unit of measurement?

re: How big is a 'Block'?

isnt it just each road that goes horizontally/vertically counts as one block?

re: How big is a 'Block'?

That's not very accurate though is it? When someone says something is about 'sixteen blocks' away it implies a specific distance.

The best thing to do would be to buy a trundle wheel.

Americans use 'block' like Brits might say "at the end of our street". It's not precise but it gives you and idea.

Typically, I'd say around 50 yards to the block.

If you're in New York, it's critical to ask "Avenue blocks or street blocks?". Avenue blocks are about 4 times longer than street blocks.
