| Sulley Ali Muntari | |
Here's the Wikipedia on this bloke from Udinese we're linked with. If his profile is correct he looks to be exactley what we need, also not a chance in hell of us signing him.

Pompey bound for £8m apparently, we can't compete with an upward ambitious club like them.

My thoughts exactley, I don't even know why we're being linked with him. "Get some ambition about you for gods sake." I would love us to lay down a £10 million bid if he's as good as they say and sign him but I'm being realistic. League position and financial clout mean Pompey will get him over us. --- Post edited by Cobain_94 on 7/1 12:26 ---

And where exactly would we get the money from in order to sign him? Exactly.

well 1 way is to free up money by moving out "dead wood" if at all possible. Also there IS money available, i dont know why everyone has got it into their heads that were broke.

| re: Sulley Ali Muntari | |
I reckon we've got 3 or 4 million max. Also, the dead wood wouldnt raise hardly any money. --- Post edited by boro1179 on 7/1 12:33 ---

I never said the deadwood would raise money, i said it would "free up" money, thats the reason why we need to get rid of it. If there is 3-4 million max, where did the £5.5m+ bids for barton and malbranque come from?? Wasnt there also like a £10m double bid for barton and distan??

| re: Sulley Ali Muntari | |
All bids were "allegedly" made. Dunno how true they were. It was all pure speculation apart from the Barton one. This bloke would cost over 8 million. We havent got that sort of money to spend on one player IMO.

how can distan turn down an alleged bid for him?

'And where exactly would we get the money from in order to sign him? Exactly' With £30m coming from SKY next season I honestly think it's time for the club to take the shackles off in terms of spending on transfers. It's a bit of a gamble I know but this season we've only spent a net £5m. £6m for Huth + £1.75m for Arca + £0.25m for Euell but we got back £3m for Frank. Also, hopefully we'll be getting £150k a week off the wage bill if we can get shot of Mendi, Parlour, Ugo, Massimo and Rocky this January.

I dont think Gibbos the type of guy to gamble with the clubs future. Next season i expect us to sign a few players for big money if we're still in the PL but i dont reckon we'll chance it at the moment.

| re: Sulley Ali Muntari | |
yea but the thing is if we sign this guy, he will have a potentially high sell on fee.

And gibbo shows ambition!
