re: cricket question

are we talking 20/20 compared to test matches?

re: cricket question

White balls are used in day/night games to help visibility as opposed to the traditional red "cherry".

The Australians use the "Kookaburra" ball as opposed to the one we use in this country (the name of which escapes me) the regulations state the weight and size of the ball so presumably as long as the balls conform to the rules they can use it.

re: cricket question

there is a number of different balls depending on where the game is being played and what type of game it is

i'm sure the balls have to be of a certain material/size in order to comply with international standards

re: cricket question

Surely it's just tha manufacturer that is different? Like Nike, Adidas or Mitre footballs.

re: cricket question

if that is so why do commentators say things like, the kookaburra wears quicker and behaves differently when wet.

Classic satire about the kookaburra, laughing my sock off here.

re: cricket question

correct UGo, can't remeber whether England use Dukes or Reeder balls now for tests over here. But the UK manufactured balls have a slightly firmer seam so move around a bit more early on.
Similar to the world cup footballs they use that swerve more than the premier league one.

re: cricket question

Think we're still Duke. I think the Kookaburra is used in Aus and parts of the sub continent only.

I could be wrong though.

And just to add, not all equiptment is standard, bats are various weights.
