| Thailand - June/July | |
On the verge of booking up for Thailand, going late June early July? We're thinking of Phuket, then onto Koh Samui, Koh Phangan for the moon party, Pattya then a night in Bangkok. Anyone been to these places at that time of year? What are they like weatherwise and as it's quite low season is the nightlife still buzzing?

Bonnie Face Musket has just come back after going to Thailand and on to Oz. Oh the stories and videos are outrageous. The Wynyard gang loved it and are booking up to go again in June/July.

Cobain: expect a lot of rain, especially in Phuket. Phuket is best in Nov-Mar.

I've read that it rains for an hour each day in Phuket which I can live with.

We did various places in Thailand the first three weeks in June and it was superb. Hot definitely and you do get a full hours rain each day. It can come at anytime but rarely did it bother us. We jsut had food or a rest while the rain lashed down. You get a fair bit of warning that it coming. Of the places you mention we did Bangkock, Koh Samui and a couple of other islands in the ang thong national mrine park. Great time of year to go as it wasn't too busy.

Air Asia X starts to operate in June/July - they're a budget airline providing cheap flights to the far east, you'll be able to get a return flight for well under £150. I'm gonna wait til then to book up as Thailand is ace. I'm certain the nightlife buzzes all year round mate

i went out to Koh Samui during the 2002 World Cup in June- it was great- i think the gulf of thailand side (with Ko Samui on) is fine climate wise. although it wasn't high season, there was plenty going on and we had a great time- stayed in Chaweng Beach which is v commercial, but you have plenty of restaurants/ bars (the Green Mango, Tropical Murphys not sure if the climate is so good at that time of the year on the other side of the isthmus (Phuket etc.), but you'll have a grand time, still the best country i've visited!

Hey Trip - we shared a beach at the same time. We were on our honeymoon for the 2002 world cup - great timing as the games were on at a decent time of the day for a beer. Stayed in Chaweng as well. --- Post edited by DybuksChampion on 22/1 10:45 ---

Great thing about Thailand is that even if the weather is cack - and it can be at certain times and certain places - there's always plenty to do. STOP BEING SO FOOKING ENGLISH AND TALKING ABOUT THE WEATHER FFS.

Suprisingly she was quite happy about it. Watched loads of games which did suprise me a bit. We'd been together for 9 years before we got hitched which probably helped. Even dragged her round the streets of a deserted mai hong son through a massive downpour to catch one game in a shack on a portable tv.

Just Robert Huthing this back to the top, got all my holidays from work sorted, will be going for 17 days including flights. Phuket and Koh Samui for certain. Our mates got back and recomended Koh Phi Phi off Phuket. Does anyone know if the boat from Phuket runs in June/July to there? --- Post edited by Cobain_94 on 29/1 22:03 ---
