First time in a long while I was fuming leaving a match, I booed at the end as well and I don't normally do that. I saw a total complacent couldn't care less attitude from our players yesterday, total lack of workrate from the midfield in putting there's under pressure. I don't think they didnt try - we tried but they tried just as hard and thats why it ended all square - we lacked either the luck or the guile to nick it | |

Oh here we go, the fan police, read the part after that. I think we didn't try harry. The amount of times the midfield were stood watching while West Brom played it round at will and even ran across our 18 yard box unchallenged twice. i agree we didnt have the luck yesterday, but to get played off your own park by a first division side is unforgivable. We sat back as if we were playing man utd. Will be different in the replay as west brom wont be on the counter attack all game. | |

I agree that they got too far forward too easily, and we lacked defensively- we went for 1 tackling midfielder and 3 more attacking types, which was a positive idea but when the fll backs play as our two did yesterday it gave them some motivation that getting the ball into the dangerous parts of the pitch was easy. Mind you most on here back an attacking line up and to be fair we've done best this season when we've tried to be positive but it didnt come off yesterday I dont think we were 'played off the park' I think it was even, and I dont think being matched by a div2 team is such a badge ofshame either - we matched plenty of top flight clubs when we were in division 2 - just because we are in div 1 doesnt mean we have a divine right to win --- Post edited by uncle_harry on 18/2 13:39 --- --- Post edited by uncle_harry on 18/2 13:42 --- | |

I think the reason behind our midfield being overrun is that ours, as a unit, is probably worse than theirs. Johnson still has a lot to learn defensively and Boateng is going the way of Parlour in my opinion and we should look to replace him in the summer. --- Post edited by Bukowski_MFC on 18/2 13:40 --- | |

Key players just did not play and we did not get the rub of the green in certain parts of the game. Viduka was quiet, but tried. Yak's touch was poor, Arca performed well in m/f, Downing did OK but could have tortured their RB who I thought was shockingly poor. Defensively we were poor, Pog was under-par as was Taylor and Xavier. Woodgate strolled but did enough. | |

I'm with Schmutz on this one (kinda - except I'm old and haven't got the wherewithall to even bother booing now). He's a punter who pays his money and gets all fired up and passionate. If that manifests itself as leaping about like a loon or having a good old fashioned boo, then that's fine by me. It's when people can't be bothered getting worked up one way or the other that the game as an event dies on its arse. Oh, and as he's 12 and full of testosterone (and good old British spunk) he's entitled to the odd dicky fit now and again. | |

I understand ,i myself can lose the plot occasionally but yesterday they got 2 lucky goals,agreed had the majority of the play in the 2nd half...and we didnt press enough in midfield but i thought we looked a bit "leggy" 2nd half ....maybe the result of extra time the other night i dunno....just dont think the performance warranted booing.... | |

yeh come on boys, grow up a little, its a BORO message board, lets not fight each other. if ya have that much pent up aggression, i suggest getting yourselves to the match on saturday and let it all out by getting behind the team. just for the record i though we slightly shaded it but in the 2nd half we never came alive. half time ruined what could have turned in to a really good game. we have lived to fight another day. so stop the bitching eh | |
