I would be more concerned if Viduka was struggling for fitness but if Schwarzer isn't fit that will be our biggets issue.

If Arca is out Cattermole switches inside and Morrison goes on the right and we have plnty of options for right full back.

TOON SET TO BATTER SMOGS would have been a more apt title.

"The Teessiders have made hard work of their progress in the competition"

The key word here is "progress". Although obviously Newcastle weren't trying when they got cuffed 5-1 at home to a Championship team.

"The injuries to Xavier and Parnaby could be the most problematic"

Explain ..

re: injury probs for sat

Anyone with even the slightest injury worry should be rested anyway for the really big game the week after.

Typical attitude of those who only go to cup games shown by Alf, there.

re: injury probs for sat

Poor journalism that. He's made a fundamental error in the first sentence "Middlesbrough have a host of injury problems to contend with ahead of Saturday's Premiership derby at Newcastle United."

Cos, as every breathing Gerodie (and the other sort) knows - it isn't a derby. (Especially when we beat them)

re: injury probs for sat

we still have plenty of options.

RB - Davies, Xavier, Parnaby, Hines, Riggott...McMahon is back i the reserves but its way too early for him

RM - Parnaby, Morrison, Cattermole, Owens, Johnson, Mendi (swansong?)

CM - Cattermole, Walker, Euell,

Worst case is probably the follwing side...

........Jones
Riggott..Woody....Pogo...Taylor
Morrison...Euell..Catt...Downing
.........Viduka....Yak

subs:- Turnbull/Hines/Johnson/Christie/Lee

That side is still capable of getting a win away to the Jawdees.
