FAO LizardsJumpers and IgnoreAlienOrders

You may have already heard, but Rufus has three songs in the new Disney film 'Meet The Robinsons' - two sung by himself and one covered by Jamie Cullum (shudder). Apparently when he agreed to the project it was so that Madonna's kids would get into his music and annoy her.

Anyhoo, you can hear one on his My Space page - it reminds me of 'I Don't Know What It Is' in a Beatlesy kind of way. I think it'll suit a kids film though.

Link: Another Believer

Cheers, have you heard his I-mix on itunes?

re: FAO LizardsJumpers and IgnoreAlienOrders

Sorry LJ, didn't see this when you posted it. No, I don't really have anything to do with iTunes.

Anyway, just wanted to let you know that Gideon is going to play his new single on 6 Music this morning (I'm guessing that it's not 'Another Believer'). That's cheered me up no end. I just hope that Neil Tennant hasn't had too much to do with it...

re: FAO LizardsJumpers and IgnoreAlienOrders

Cheers FW_2. Do you know when the new single is released? There no mention of even what it is on his website.

The soundtrack is released today, so both tracks should be available to download shortly.

re: FAO LizardsJumpers and IgnoreAlienOrders

No idea I_A_O. It's all very exciting though. (Well, it is if you're as sad as me .)

What I really want to know are the tour dates...

FW_2 Posted on 26/3 11:57
re: FAO LizardsJumpers and IgnoreAlienOrders

Ken Bruce just played 'Going To A Town' - it was okay, sounded a bit blander than his usual gorgeous over the top stuff.

However, I await to be won over.

Pah, just seen this.

I'll keep my ears out, and investigate "listen again"

FW_2 Posted on 26/3 11:59
re: FAO LizardsJumpers and IgnoreAlienOrders

TLJ, Gideon is going to play it in this half hour...keep listening.

Oh and I didnt see you previous post, asking for information - sorry.

I havent heard it yet, I'm afraid. I'll stick listen again on today.

FW_2 Posted on 28/3 8:49
re: FAO LizardsJumpers and IgnoreAlienOrders

From looking at the tour dates he's already announced I'm guessing that he'll do a few more dates over here at the start of June. When I'm on holiday.

Is there an emoticon for sobbing uncontrollably? Am truly depressed and very envious of you.

re: FAO LizardsJumpers and IgnoreAlienOrders

And an evening hoof.

Will the night owls reading this please do me a favour and keep this hoofed in case Ignore_Alien_Orders has been working shifts - I'd hate for him to miss out on ticket sales in the morning. Many thanks.

Ignore_Alien_Orders Posted on 28/3 19:56
re: FAO LizardsJumpers and IgnoreAlienOrders

Kick up the bum gratefully recieved thanks. Alarm will be set. Can't make up my mind yet which one to go to.

I'd like to go to The Old Vic, but I could do without the hassle of that London place.

Bristols looking fav at the moment.

re: FAO LizardsJumpers and IgnoreAlienOrders

I think they've ballsed it up by saying GMT instead of BST. It'll all happen at 10.00 I guess. Hang in there.

re: FAO LizardsJumpers and IgnoreAlienOrders

Did you manage to get through ? I've only been getting an engaged tone for 25 mins

The_Lizards_Jumpers Posted on 29/3 9:26

Only on sale on the internet I believe IAO, rather than over the phone.

re: FAO LizardsJumpers and IgnoreAlienOrders

And seetickets were CRAP when I was trying to buy for the Palladium gig - but persevere. I reckon come ten o'clock the seetickets website will be up and running and you'll be off. Good luck. Don't get stressed.

Good work fellas. I'm thrilled for you. Really. And not bitter at all.

re: FAO LizardsJumpers and IgnoreAlienOrders

Thanks FW, It'll make up for the disappointment of having to sell my Brighton tickets last year, and missing out on last months Palladium extravaganza.

re: FAO LizardsJumpers and IgnoreAlienOrders

Just a quickie - have a look at his official site, there's the new video plus a nice little 10 minute piece on the making of it.

(And don't forget Radcliffe and Maconie next Wednesday night and Jonathan Ross a week on Friday.)

re: FAO LizardsJumpers and IgnoreAlienOrders

Thanks for the update. My tickets for Bristol arrived (by courrier no less) today.

I see he's added another couple of dates (down south though)

FW_2 Posted on 1/5 19:52
re: FAO LizardsJumpers and IgnoreAlienOrders

Yes, I'm gutted he hasn't announced any dates oop north yet. Here's hoping for later in the year.

re: FAO LizardsJumpers and IgnoreAlienOrders

For T_L_J, in case you haven't already seen.

And a certain person I work with who also happens to post on this board has brought me the album in this morning. Argh, it's burning a hole in the drawer as I type...

The_Lizards_Jumpers Posted on 2/5 14:12
re: FAO LizardsJumpers and IgnoreAlienOrders

Thanks, I'll take a look.

You've got a copy of the album - I'm jealous but will keep waiting for only 2 more weeks.

FW_2 Posted on 2/5 14:14
re: FAO LizardsJumpers and IgnoreAlienOrders

I was going to wait - he took me completely by surprise - but I know that once I get home I won't be able to resist playing it.

I'll still buy it when it comes out though - do you know there's a version with a DVD?

The_Lizards_Jumpers Posted on 2/5 14:17
re: FAO LizardsJumpers and IgnoreAlienOrders

Yep, already got my order in to Amazon for it.

The_Lizards_Jumpers Posted on 5/5 9:23
re: FAO LizardsJumpers and IgnoreAlienOrders

Got him with Teddy Thompson doing "King of the road" if you're interested as well as the covers I mentioned to you before.

FW_2 Posted on 5/5 11:02
re: FAO LizardsJumpers and IgnoreAlienOrders

Thanks, I have that. I've got a version of him and the clan doing 'What'll I Do?' and 'Goodnight Sweetheart' (although I think that might be one of the tracks you mentioned before) - and a fabulously saucy one called 'Instant Pleasure' which makes me laugh every time I hear it. Usually in public when I'm walking home from work. So, if you'd like a copy, give us a shout.

And if you have another look on his website there's a lot of stuff about TV and radio he's doing next week, including BBC Breakfast which should ruffle a few feathers!

*whispers* and the album is fab...

FW_2 Posted on 8/5 12:06
re: FAO LizardsJumpers and IgnoreAlienOrders

He's on Simon Mayo's 5 Live show this afternoon.

And Radcliffe and Maconie tonight.

re: FAO LizardsJumpers and IgnoreAlienOrders

You didnt ask him to play The Little Theatre on Radcliffe and Maconie last night did you?
