The football team that is, the hype surrounding them does my head in. They're sh_ite, Stuart Downing is made scapegoat because the press have to have one. What they fail to realise is that the Premiership's one of the most uncompetitive leagues in the world. The team has an abundance of good players in some positions but nothing in others. We don't have a manager who has the balls to pick a system and pick players who would best suit it. | |

Like you said the managers a problem. Most teams would decide a tactic and then pick players to fit into the tactic, not pick players and then come up with a tactic to try and fit the players he wants to play in it. Media doesn't help the manager either really. | |

McLaren is not my choice of England manager but I still want them to win - maybe a scrappy 1-0 win on Wendesday might push him nearer the edge | |

McClaren's scared to do anything which the media or big name players in the squad might not like. He must know that it's got to be either Gerrard or Lampard in the centre with Hargreaves and then two natural wide men on the wings. Midfield yesterday from left to right should have been Downing (Who put in a couple of dangerous crosses in his 10 minutes) Hargreaves, Gerrard, Lennon. | |

england have the players to do well and play much better. you just need a manager who can handle the egos of some of the players and drop underperforming big names. mclarens too weak and will take too much crap because that was the mentality under the idiot who was in before mclaren. the press dont really help any manager either. who ever relaces mclaren should tell the press to f off and let him get on with his job in peace. | |

But the players are all ego maniacs, poncing around without any effort being made. McClaren is totally useless !! He hasn't got a single ounce of bottle, his balls fell out of his scrotum 30 years ago, and he's operating with a mentality that makes him shyt-scared to take a gamble, and this stupid team selection routine, that he thinks makes him such a great coach ... I think I'll return to me Scottish roots. At least they play with some passion, at least they look interested, at least they TRY !!! | |

I'm not Mclaren's biggest fan, but : I can't think of an England manager who didn't get all this flak. Ramsey got a brief respite when we won the WC, then they lost to Scotland and it was back to normal. Ramsey, Revie and Robson had good club records, but it didn't protect them. El Tel failed for non-football reasons, but he still failed. They all had better players than SMc, too. We don't support England during the season, because we see them as last weeks hated opponents e.g Rooney. | |
