The Iranian regime is much less murderous now than it was in the 1980s and early 1990s, though it's hardly cuddly. There is a slow drift towards normality (though Ahmedinajad is a bit of a setback) and external interference would reverse the process. | |

If making a few obviously fake statements while photographing these 15 standing around and looking sheepish is considered abuse then we'd better hope that the Iranians have forgotten about the tactics employed at Abu Ghraib and Gitmo and who knows where else. | |

reading the 9/11 report and it states that one of Bush's senior advisors (forget which one) was asking researchers to look into who helped, trained and funded Al-Q' he said to look at Iraq esp.. they reported Iraq had no links to them.. he wasn't happy.. guess given time they'll find enough links to implicate any regime.. after all in the 50's UK and US helped overthrow the Iranian gov and put the Shah in control.. maybe they'll implicate themselves.. hmmm | |

As a current serving member of the armed forces, I think we should forget all this Iran rubbish and annex Berwick instead. A fight we can win, within reach of our bases and I could move to Leeming and get a season ticket. | |

the sticking point is, grumpy, that the russian delegate who signed the treaty may not have had the authority to do so. So the story goes. This was back in the 60s. | |
