re: defoe..

I'd defo (no pun intended!) have him at boro, different kind of striker than what we have at the moment, not sure if he'd be up for it mind?

re: defoe..

I'd have him too. I'd go up to £12m for him.

We need a striker like him who can beat a centre back to the corner flag in a race.

"We need a striker like him who can beat a centre back to the corner flag in a race."

whats the point in racing to the corner flag if the ball is elsewhere?

re: defoe..

In my scenario the ball IS there. Defoe get's their first, hold's it up, the whole team advances 40 yards and we get 10% more good forward possesion in games.

If you want but I think my tactics are sound.

re: defoe..

This 10%? I'm curious and a little excited by the concept.

Should we be content with an extra 5% and buy Jermaine Jenas instead? Perhaps by also purchasing say Keiron Dyer we could start to assemble a squad to emulate the great Newcastle side of a few years ago?

Gillandi Posted on 12/4 23:01
re: defoe..

Jenas would put us into a negative possession situation, i'd hang fire on that deal.

I really hope I don't have to get my blackboard out here. I'm through with life at the chalk-face. Just know what i'm talking about and thats it please.

re: defoe..

Defoe was a a very poor impersonation of Stewie Downing tonight. I blame Martin Hhholl for that. He can only dream.

re: defoe..

He's not rated there and unhappy...shos in his game but I think he'd thrive here, once he's come of the bench and established himself.

Man U are reported to have been sniffing all season. He'll be on his way somewhere I have no doubt.

re: defoe..

He always seems to me more interesting in whats best for him rather than the team. Late on tonight he tried a curling shot from the edge of the box instead of knocking the ball in for his team mates lined up waiting for a cross. As they remonstrated to him afterwards he didn't seem in the least bothered about the poor decision he made.
