re: Thinking about the subs yesterday....

The double substitution at half time against Charlton last season had everyone scratching their heads, mainly bringing Mendieta on. He played behind the strikers for 10 minutes and then was subbed for Maccarone. I know he went off injured, but he didn't get a knock, so may have already been a doubt, so changing the whole system at half in order to introduce a player who may have been struggling to be fit seems a little odd.

I can't remember that big_shot but from your description yes, it does sound very baffling!

We were 1-0 down at half time, so he subbed Queudure and Morrison for Pogatetz and Mendieta. But we lined up in a 4312 with Mendieta behind the front 2. 10 minutes later with no sign of an injury he jogged off and straight down the tunnel and Maccarone came on.
