NPower - theiving gets!

I was landed with a bill for £350.00 for a year! There's no way I can have used that ammount, but the barsteds won't have it. Every time I ring them and eventually get through, I have to explain myself yet again and they tell me I'm wrong. Whereas I KNOW I'M RIGHT.

It's not just them either. Every time you have to contact one of these places you get thrown from pillar to post, so eventually you get so pi$$ed off that you give up and pay what you don't owe.

You just can't win can you?

Or can you? If anybody knows how let us know please.

That seems like quite a small amount to me. Is it dual fuel?

What everyone else said. Did you miss a naught off, or something? £350 sounds great.

re: NPower - theiving gets!

Mine doubled over the last year or so.

Im similar to trodbitch

I pay £55 a month on gas (£660 per year)
Plus another £57.50 a month on electric (£690 per year)

Only a 3 bed semi too

£350 a year sounds nothing to be honest

Put everything in writing and get them to contact you at your convenience, tell them how and when to contact you.

£350 doesn't seem like a huge amount these days.

re: NPower - theiving gets!

theyve had us paying £143 a month ona one bedroom flat, so we've switched to edf.

re: NPower - theiving gets!

Sorry it was £530.00!

I must add that I live on my own in a one bedroom bungalow, work six days a week and am out most nights and my mother does my washing for me.

Let me guess Lennie, you have electric heating?

For me, it's our dryer. It was either use one of those or continue to suffer from the condensation drying clothes indoors brings.

re: NPower - theiving gets!

buck, the best way to check this is to take a meter reading from last year (on a bill) and a meter reading on the last bill and see how many units were used. And are they estimates?

re: NPower - theiving gets!

Still sounds about right Dr Buck, we hardly have our heating on, only a couple of hours in a morning and then at night.

Still paying nearly £1300 per year gas and electric

no, gas central heating. we hardly use anything. its made us even more conscious of turning things off, tho, and wearing warm clothing instead of putting the heating on.

re: NPower - theiving gets!

The issue at the moment is what people would be paying about 5 years ago is at least half of what the prices are now.

worse than the rise in football ticket prices!

re: NPower - theiving gets!

What I don't really understand is why they've waited a year to send me a bil?
Once upon a time I could go down town to the Electric Showroom, tell them the problem and a nice lady behind the counter would sort it out there and then WTF has happened?
I hate all this schitt.
