I noticed on another thread someone saying about a clear out. We don't need a clear out at all, we need two players in order to be a good Premiership side. An attacking midfielder and a right winger. This was proven yesterday when Johnson and Arca came on, we had a midfielder who could play the ball about and someone on the right with attacking instincts and we largely dominated from there on in. Don't understand the hysterical reactions on here. | |

Some people always say we need a clear-out. Last May, when I staggered home through Middlesbrough town centre after the Uefa Cup final, about 4 people I spoke to said we needed a clear-out. Two of them even said: "Get rid of the dead wood. Get rid of Viduka..." Unbelievable. | |

Agree 100%. I think we have a very good foundation upon which to build. Adding a couple of well selected players in the right positions would make us a pretty good outfit. | |

People like to make a statement. The smaller they are, the bigger the statement needs to be. 'We need a couple of well thought out sensible buys in key positions - and we need them NOW' lacks a certain je ne sais nowt. | |

It's alright for some to say have a clearout, but you've got players under contract who will want these paying up. Then you've got to replace these players which will cost more in transfer fees. Doesn't always make economic sense to do this. That said, there are certain players who we could do with offloading. | |

depends what you call a clearout. Mendieta, Euell, Parlour, Christie and Xavier (not because he's played badly, just need a new full-back and he's getting on) Buys: Full back, Right Wing, Centre Mid, Striker | |

Right back and Right wing priority, then striker and centre midfield. No idea for right back and winger need to be class players, but with Arca Boateng and Rochemback a centre mid could easily be cover for them, not a multimillion quid singing. I think Marlon King would be an excellent signing from watford as backup to viduka and yak. | |
