Place Your Bids For Unique Auction

The chance to play golf with Lee Cattermole or take on Bernie Slavenís five-a-side team are just two of the money-canít-buy prizes being auctioned in aid of two charities.

Boro fans Ė and football supporters in general Ė have the chance to snap up a long list of fantastic prizes in the auction, which is designed to raise cash for James Cook University Hospitalís Chemotherapy Unit and Baghdad Childrenís Hospital.

The auction will culminate in a gala dinner at the Riverside Stadium on June 22 when the hugely talented impressionist Kevin Connelly and top local band The Beer Pigs will entertain 200 guests.

But several of the items are open to advance bids from those unable to attend the event. They include a round of golf for three at Wynyard with young Boro star and keen golfer Lee Cattermole and a chance for your five-a-side team to take on Boro legend Bernie Slavenís team.

Also open for bids is the chance to assist the Riversideís matchday public address announcer Mark Page including the chance to set the clubís Pigbag theme tune playing as the Boro team emerges onto the pitch.

Thereís also an opportunity to join Century fm commentary duo Alastair Brownlee and Bernie Slaven in the Riverside press box throughout their Boro matchday analysis.

Online bids are also being encouraged for a Bolo Zenden match-worn Liverpool shirt signed by the squad of the Champions League finalists. Thereís also signed Rangers and Hibernian shirts, plus a Sunderland shirt signed by Black Cats boss Roy Keane.

Those attending the Riverside Gala Dinner on June 22 will have the final chance to top all bids but it is hoped all of the items will attract much interest before the big night.

To make advance bids for any of the items simply email editor@riverside.mfc.co.uk. A running total of the current top bids can be viewed on Boroís official website, mfc.co.uk throughout the auction.

Items being auctioned on the night itself include a portrait session with Norton-based Gary Walsh, a former portrait photographer of the year, and a three-course dinner party for six at your home, including two chefs and two front-of-house staff to serve, clear away and wash up, all courtesy of Ron Darby of Acklamís Blue Bell Hotel.

Thereís also a signed England shirt, a golf lesson from Brass Castle assistant-pro Jonathan Lupton and a barbeque for 25, with meat provided by Country Valley.

Organisers of the gala dinner and auction are aiming to raise £10,000. The final few remaining tickets are expected to sell out fast for the fundraising night. Tickets are £30 each. They can be booked by calling Fr Paul Farrer on 01642 814794 or emailing frpaul@holynameandstthomasmore.org.uk.

This is a really interesting event being programmed for the middle of the summer. Some amazing imaginitive prizes in the auction.

I like the idea of a chef coming round to cook my meal and wash up afterwards.

Lizard, have you seen Shawshank Redemption? What you'd have to do is get MMP to lower his guard and then barracade him out of the offices while playing ANYTHING but pigbag. The crowd might not know what the fook you are playing and will stare in stunned disbelief but, for that short while, they will feel like free men.

Or something.

I'd pay a grand to throw his CD out the window, then another grand to throw him out.
