Duke Interview

Sounded posotive. 'I hope we can sort something out'

re: Duke Interview

But did he say "It's been a great place to be" or "It's a great place to be" (or words to that effect - there's a big diffrence. Sounded from his manner that he's off.

i must say i thought it sounded like he was saying his final goodbyes

re: Duke Interview

You can read anything you want into it. Aklam lad feels it could be the end I saw the other side of it. Not too sure of the tense of it

scaremongering!
I didnt think it sounded like that at all. He said Boro was a 'great place to be' and hoped something could be sorted out regarding a new contract. Of course he's going to be cagey on the details as its private.

re: Duke Interview

That's what I said Gibsons, sounded posotive to me, thought he was late coming back on he pitch as the ink was drying, we live in hope

re: Duke Interview

The feeling I and those around me got on the walk round was that he is off and he was saying goodbye, not only him though, but George Boateng as well

foggonsfplandiet Posted on 13/5 17:52
re: Duke Interview

Boateng said last week he's not going anywhere.

re: Duke Interview

If Pompy offer him £60k a week then fair enough we can't be putting that type of money into a player who might only give us 2 seasons.

If he does go we need to be getting in a player who will be as good if not better and that sort of player is not easy to come by.

re: Duke Interview

rumour round the south stand was that he is goin to stay coz his family is really settled n happy in harrogate *fingers crossed*

boropatch Posted on 13/5 18:07
re: Duke Interview

So his family is happy in Harrogate whilst he lives just outside Wetherby.

re: Duke Interview

Thought he lived near southgate in harrogate..along with JFH when he was here.

re: Duke Interview

I thought he lived (I mean lives) in Ripley, about 3 miles from Harrogate and adjacent to Nidd. A stones throw from his manager, with a good arm.

I think it might have been the combination of his kids slowing him down and the fact he was left alone that made it look like farewells. I hope.

uncle_harry Posted on 13/5 18:35
re: Duke Interview

if he says ''I hope we can sort something out' perhaps what he actually meant was ''I hope we can sort something out' which is suggestive of the fact that he hopes we can sort something out

never mind all this o'oh he was walking around the pitch in a Im definitely going away sort of wiggle to his @rse' - I ask you

re: Duke Interview

If he wants £60000 a week and he could do it for another 2 seasons could we not offer him a 2 year deal or will he be looking for a 3-4 year deal, i feel like he could play at the highest level until he's 35-36 because he's not one of those players that relies on pace, its his awareness, ball control and eye for goal which makes him a fantastic player, watching him i dont think he will lose all that ability for a few more seasons.
