Things people always say

For example when people are talking about shitty MOR rock band Muse it appears you have to suffix it with "...and they're amazing live" whether you know anyone who has ever seen them or not.

It seems the done thing to follow that with "the book is miles better than he film".

That's the sort of thing I'm talking about.

re: Things people always say

personally I can take Muse or leave them, not really bovvered, but they are amazing live. I've read the DaVinci Code and thoroughly enjoyed it. Then I watched the film and the book is miles better, then they invariably are, but you're probably too young to know that.

re: Things people always say

We've got a manager at work who starts nearly every day with "Is everybody happy? We'll soon do something about that then." It wasn't funny the first time, after a couple of years I think it's justification for physical violence.

"It'll be in the last place you look!".

Actually, no. I'll continue looking for a few minutes after I find whatever the hell it is, just to spite you, you vacuous little twerp.

re: Things people always say

I knew a woman who always said that ...

"So, I turned around .."

I once asked her why she had to turn around, and she gave me one of them "fook you with an extra large barbed wire stick" looks ..
