Fallout from the "controversial view post"

Should we have one here, otherwise the arguments will spoil others chances of getting theirs out?

Revol_Tees Posted on 7/6 12:36
re: Fallout from the "controversial view post"

I can't even be arsed to open the thread. Any chance of a quick summary? Which "opinion" has sparked the argument?

re: Fallout from the "controversial view post"

Just to get us started

"If you live in britain you should dress like a Britain. No muslim jamas or turbans or long wirey beards please. It's not fancy dress, it's England."

Get yer merkins, tankards and Morris dancer gear out, or you are deported!

Good domestic policy for merrye olde England!

Me grandad and his beard would have kicked yer ass down the garden path, through the gate and over the other side of the road for saying beards weren'r Ingerlish.

Yep marvellous stuff. I've set up my deck chair, turned on the pop corn maker and shall spend the afternoon flitting between this and the the Guardian's OBO.

We should run a book on this thread for who came out with the "foreign dress" post, for those who haven't looked at the thread. I'm out, I looked.

re: Fallout from the "controversial view post

How can it go on for hundreds? I thought you were only allowed one each.

Haven't looked, but need a bit more.

Were the wearers of such garb advised to 'phook off home?'

re: Fallout from the "controversial view post

No no. Far too experienced a controversialist for that.

re: Fallout from the "controversial view post

Surely the identity of the poster who felt the need to start a new thread just to twitter on about it would give that one away?

re: Fallout from the "controversial view post

Absolutely no prizes whatsoever for guessing the author of this one.

"An obvious one, but mine is probably that Al-Qaeda and associated Islamist armies are a force trying to kill us and restore the caliphate, and we should respond to such a threat in the way it is offered - militarily, and that delinating from this the invasions of Afghanistan and I-raq were not only justified but necessary. Doesn't seem that controversial to me but it can still bring a room of ultra-relativists and pseudosocialists to a momentary silence."

re: Fallout from the "controversial view post

If you are going to contribute to a thread at least do it properly. There's hardly anything remotely controversial on that thread apart from my cultural refrences.

Bunch of fannies the lot of ya

re: Fallout from the "controversial view post

zoec I'm stunned/astonished/awe-stricken by the radicalism of that outspoken and uncompromising opinion. It can only be the work of a true maverick...

I'm guessing Boateng_7, zoec?

re: Fallout from the "controversial view post

I'm assuming this afternoon's outbreak of 'looker me'-ism is some spinoff from all the splenetic activity also.

Like a vent for noxious fumes.

re: Fallout from the "controversial view post

Whats the bet it will attract rednecks from all over the boards, we are a touchstone you know, everyone taps into us cos we're the best (and apparently worst) users of our board.

We have to set some kind of example.

Kick racism out of football.
