Useless terrorists

Rather than helping the terrorists achieve their aim (which is of course to terrorise) by telling us how serious the attacks over the weekend were, why are the government and media not making it clear quite how incompetent these terrorists were.

They aren't 'terrifying' as much of the media is telling us. They are buffoons who should be being ridiculed, not feared.

On Friday, a couple of them tried to deliver a car bomb, which was so incompetently made that it could not possibly have exploded, but failed because they couldn't drive a car properly and crashed into a bin.

This was followed by another attempt on Sunday when, with another non-explodable bomb, they failed to do even a basic reconnaissance to see that there were bollards outside the terminal and promptly crashed into them. They then managed to burn themselves half to death, without putting much more than a scratch on anyone else.

They are a pathetic bunch of morons, and should be portrayed as such.

They should be left to rot in jail if they catch them, not ridiculed.

re: Useless terrorists

Rather more worryingly this bunch of incompetents seem to be (supposedly) highly trained doctors. I suspect they would have posed a greater threat to life and limb with a syringe in their hands rather than a jeep full of petrol.

re: Useless terrorists

Agreed, when caught they should be sentenced on the basis that they tried to commit mass-murder, even if their attempt was doomed to pathetic failure.

Yes, rather ironic that their incompetence would have probably killed a lot more people if they had just carried on as doctors.

Maybe it suits the state that the new boy in the machine room gets an early chance to show there in no change in course and that he too can be tough in the war on terror.

On the subject of incompetence, the British security services haven't exactly covered themselves in glory either.

It will be interesting to see the recovery rates of their patients.

I wonder if Al Jazeera do a 'bloopers' show?

re: Useless terrorists

I wouldn't go that far RedRebel, but whenever a plot is uncovered or an incident takes place, they do seem to maximise rather than minmise the resultant fear-factor.

Nick "I don't really need these glasses" Robinson was keen to stress last night how Gordon and Co were deliberately not mentioning the "war on terror" and had no intention of ever doing so.

Mr. Get is referring to Harry Hill's Jihad Burp

Here come our gallant avengers... oh dear look out for that bollard! Look, he's on fire... And here comes an infidel... oh my... he's punched his lights out... oh dear... those virgins are just going to have to wait...

What are the chances of that happening?

re: Useless terrorists

When caught these people should be on the first flight to camp xray along with thier families, friends and anyone else our security forces have the slightests incline had any part of this.

They should never taste freedom again, ever.

BoroMutt Posted on 3/7 10:24
re: Useless terrorists

Quite right boroborn in order to defend freedom, liberty and human rights we need to trample all over them. That'll learn 'em.

re: Useless terrorists

Exactly what I was thinking Kilburn. I daresay it will also turn out that, once again, they had no reason to beleive another attack would happen in the same location, but they decided just the same to shut everything down. Result : chaos caused where the amateur terrorists had otherwise failed.

re: Useless terrorists

These people gave up the right to human rights the moment they decided that mass murder was the order of the day BoroMutt.

Kilburn Posted on 3/7 10:48
re: Useless terrorists

It think that BoroMutt was more concerned by the rather Stalinist way that he suggested that the police round up their families, friends and anyone else they fancy.

Im puzzled why ITV cancelled die hard 2 last night due to recent events.

Why, the only people to get hurt were the terrorists?

Exploding cars, indestructible jeeps, high speed chases, death defying stunts and other high jinks - I tell you what, Top Gear and Brainiac has a lot to answer for. The BBC are practically feeding these crackpots with the know how to cause destruction! I daren't go outside in fear of someone launching a robin reliant rocket at me

I was referring to real life their Specky, not the film.

Good God.

Let me guess, you hate Iran and everything it stands for?

Ah. My apologies.

Although I can see why the general air travel/exploding things motif would lead them to shelve it for another rainy day.

green_beret20 Posted on 3/7 10:56
re: Useless terrorists

I wouldn't quite class questioning the people they have been sleeping, talking, eating with for the past few months as Stalinist.

gravy_boat Posted on 3/7 10:59
re: Useless terrorists

Hmmm, 'questioning' them was not quite his suggestion though, was it?

Tom_Fun Posted on 3/7 10:59
re: Useless terrorists

There was a steward at the Riverside test match the other week who looked like Stalin. He put many a rowdy fan in their place with a mere twitch of his magnificent 'tache.

BoroMutt Posted on 3/7 10:59
re: Useless terrorists

I expect they are questioning them, but to put families and friends them on the first flight to camp x-ray? Not a trifle OTT perhaps?

That'll be 'Old Joe', Tom.

Sits people down from 50 yards.

re: Useless terrorists

must be easier to find an airport where you can drive through the fence then crash into a plane full of people and jet fire to the jeep

re: Useless terrorists

Camp X-Ray is the US's worst PR disaster since Nixon and the worst US human rights abuse since the civil rights movement. It should be closed down immediately.
