Getting pierced

Where does one go these days to get ears pierced - is Claire's the only place that does it? Back in my day everyone used to go to either Robert Anthony's where it was 50p, but my dad made me go and 'get it done properly' in Binns (next to the lifts on the ground floor where the wigs used to be) for the princely sum of a fiver.

Anyhoo, I told my daughter from a young age that she could have hers done when she finished primary school....and now that day is almost upon me. Sob.

What's wrong with the tried and tested method of a needle and a packet of frozen peas?

Thing is, she's a big wuss at the best of times so we'll both be past ourselves. Euw, remember having to 'turn' them every day and clean them with surgical spirit? I wouldn't care but I went through all of that palaver and then let them close up a few years later.

Think - Claires - do both ears at the same time ie one hit / pain instead of two!!

re: Getting pierced

Not just claires do it, most jewelry stores do it too, FHinds does it H Samuels does it. I had mine done when I was a kid at Binns (aw to be 13 again) I had to have them re done last year as i'd let them close up, Mr Tulloch offered to do them, so with a sterile needle he did it for me after an operating list. I was very brave all the girls said

I never felt it at all.

Done in Nyacassel as a student, guess I was used to pain by then.
