| Is £107 for a bag of sand (delivered) dear? | |
Have they had my eyes out to buy and have delivered, on Saturday, a ton of sand?

I would say so. Depends on where they're delivering to and extra costs for a Saturday. I would have thought 30-40 quid ex-works for a ton of sand.

Delivering to my house and it was £25 extra for Saturday delivery.

Well, I think it's a lot. He won't be on until tomorrow, but this is the boy Marlon's specialist subject.

Unless you live about 25 miles from the builder's merchants, you have been well and truly ripped off. £40 tops.

Really ? It was £82, but then I had to pay £25 for Saturday delivery.

Easily mid £30's for a Tonne of any aggregate, and that should be delivery included. I have never paid extra for Saturday deliveries. Phone round for quotes, generally if you live within a couple of miles from the merchant they will not charge for delivery (with the exception of Atkinsons on Cargo Fleet).

£107 I found that BandQ is the cheapest down here (Bournemouth) £30 plus about £10 delivery I think. The highest quote I had was about £60 delivered from Travis Perkins and I nearly fell over at that.

Ton of sand - £30 including delivery, as its a saturday maybe £45 ish. To put it into perspective, at our yard we get it for 16.95 inc delivery from merchants (but thats a lot of materials at once) I'd tell them to fook off personally

We would charge about £35 plus vat to deliver a dumpy of sand to a cash punter.

I once purchased some narcotics when a bit worse for wear in Tenerife which turned out to be 'cut' with sand. That was quite expensive, maybe yours is from the same batch. If the bloke who delivers it looks a bit Spanish, give him a bat from me.

Oh well, you live and learn, and I've learned that you should never pay more than £50 for a bag of sand. This is the company if anyone else fancies some old dust mixed with sand.
