how optimistic are you about next season?

The Football Fans Census have been in touch with their latest Fans Survey - Middlesbrough

"We're running a short survey to gauge how optimistic fans feel about the forthcoming season, how Boro fans rate your manager, players and what you thought of the teams style of play towards the end of last season.

The survey is just 5 questions long and will only take a moment to complete. If you could forward the link to anyone you think would like to take part that would be much appreciated."

Many thanks for your support

re: how optimistic are you about next season?

as from my earlier post

two good signings at the moment one who is proven international class and another who has something to prove and wants to play for the club.

a defence that is capable on its day of keeping any team at bay and a midfield that can get stuck in with the best of them.

I am feel the gate will guide us in the right direction but this season is make or break we need to get back into europe for the revenue and exposure and i feel we can do that

we all know on our day we can beat anybody - Man Utd, Chelsea, Gooners, Newcastle we hav beaten them all in the past two or 3 years

lets get beind the lads no matter who makes the shirts or what they look like

It starts today

I think the signings look promising but the problem for a couple of seasons has been the midfield and we are still yet to address that.

If we do not sign a right-sided player and replace rochemback then it's bottom half all the way.

re: how optimistic are you about next season?

With the squad as it presently stands I am in the "slightly concerned" section. Why ? Losing Viduka whatever anybody says takes away a large threat to defenders for his hold up play, clever footwork, chance creation and finishing. We appear to have a demotivated striker in Yakubu ( who we desperatly need to keep) and 2 of our signings have a lot to prove.

We can't harm teams with pace alone. Our midfield is crying out for a wide right player and a good central one who can not only create but score goals.Gook, Alidaire, Tuncay are all still Prem novices - too many IMO so we really need another recognised striker ( not Smith,Beattie)

With a lot of clubs who finished below us strengthening their squads - Fulham, West Ham, Newcastle, Man City ( will be more ! )I feel we will be looking over our shoulder.

I really hope I'm proved wrong........
