Broughton Lad: wrong board? wtf? Heaton: Why has it gone mad? Are you suggesting he is worth less? I have always thought Boro's scouting system was flawed, as we consistently miss out on class players, (such as KR), and I was annoyed that the Mackems had bought him. If he was available why the heck weren't we in for him! That's whats mad! | |

Too f_cking right I am suggesting he is worth less. £2m would have been a decent price. Does'nt alter the fact that I do not rate him in the slightest, and would have been horrified if we had been after him. Another player who the media has bulled up to be something he is not. There will be no tears shed at Man U that he is going, and I bet they are p_ssing themselves that they got so much for him. | |

Fastcakes, why would we bid for a player that is not worth £5m when we have Downing and Johnson in the same position both of whom are far better players? We need to invest £5m on the right side of midfield not the left. | |

Kieron Richardson = pacey headless chicken. If he's worth 5.5 mill then Downing's priceless. Wouldn't surprise me if he scores the only goal of the game at the Riverside this season! I actually think Sunderland will do alright this season. Would love to see 'em finish above the dirty, long-ball merchants with the corrupt manager. | |

Ok, apologies from me. Its been several months since I've seen a Premiership game, and I pictured Richardson as a right winger. Even so, I still think 5 mil is a fair price, especially when lumbering loons like BENT goes for 17 mil - now that is an overpriced player! | |

Isn't Kieron Richardson one of the players Keane slagged off as being unworthy of ManU in the famous MUTV interview that was never broadcast? Now he's willing to pay £5m for him? Somebody's lost their marbles, methinks. Or maybe desperation has set in, as Keano sees the trapdoor looming beneath his feet. | |

KR was the player Keane singled out as the worst player that day. I work in Manc and no ones lamenting his loss, highest val of him (from a Briggsy type - no offence if yer reading) was 3 million. Sunderland'll struggle if they spend that kind of money on that kind of player and they've done it twice this season. | |

I think a lot of people think the Mackems will do all right because Keane is managing them. They may be right, but he seems to be spending an awful lot of money on players who look relegation fodder. Unless he can get some good players in, they're doomed. | |

Richardson is an awful, awful player. I have had the misfortune of seeing him play several games, and each time, despite me expecting him to be poor, he surpassed my expectations in terms of how deeply bad he was. | |

you have to fear for them even with the 15mill spent on 'team strengthening' there first 11 is ..... GK Martin Fulop DF Greg Halford Danny Collins Russell Anderson Stephen Wright MF Carlos Edwards Dean Whitehead Grant Leadbitter Kieran Richardson AT David Connelly Michael Chopra that is truly awful. How many of those would get in our side? Maybe 2 (Halford and Edwards) and that is because we don't have a rightback or rightmidfielder at the moment. | |

Pains me to say, but weren't we saying this about Reading and Wigan?? Sometimes a good team spirit and good tactics is as important as having bucketloads of quality. On paper, yes they do look dangerously low on quality. It remains to be seen. | |
