Never heard of Fionn Regan until two minutes ago when Gideon Coe started playing him. Then he fetches up on that list.

Must be blocked at work. All I get is the logos.

Can you post them up?

Jamie T or Artics should win it.

re: Mercury Music Prize Shortlist

Last year's winners Arctic Monkeys are on the shortlist for this year's Nationwide Mercury Prize, putting them in with a chance of being the first act to win it twice in a row.

The band won in 2006 for debut album 'Whatever People Say What I Am, That's What I'm Not'. Their second LP 'Favourite Worst Nightmare' was among the 11 albums announced today (July 17) at The Hospital venue in central London.

Another former winner, Dizzee Rascal, is also on the list of 11 albums. The star will be hoping 'Maths & English' can repeat the success of 'Boy In Da Corner' back in 2003.

Other nominees include debut albums from Klaxons, Maps, Jamie T and The View.

The full list of nominations are as follows:

Arctic Monkeys - 'Favourite Worst Nightmare'
Klaxons - 'Myths Of The Near Future'
Amy Winehouse - 'Back To Black'
Maps - 'We Can Create'
The View - 'Hats Off To The Buskers'
Jamie T - 'Panic Prevention'
Dizzee Rascal - 'Maths & English'
Bat For Lashes - 'Fur And Gold'
Young Knives - 'Voices of Animals And Men'
Fionn Regan - 'The End Of History'
New Young Pony Club - 'Fantastic Playroom'
Basquiat Strings - 'Basquiat Strings'

The Nationwide Mercury Prize winner for 2007 will be announced at a ceremony in London's Grosvenor House Hotel in September

Won't be the Arctic Monkeys as its too main stream. The Mecury awards have a habit of stunting the winners fortunes don't they? Thank God Anthony and the Johnsons won it last year!

I would be happy to see Maps win - We Can Create is top notch.

New YOung Pony Club were quality live too - great disco record.

The Klaxons, Jamie T and The Young Knives can all fook off though - nowt but trendy for a summer NME fodder.

Sorry, I got Jamie T mixed up with Just Jack - they've already fooked off. Carry on.

Patrick Wolf should've been on the shortlist, given that 'The Magic Position' is the best album released this year.

New Young Pony Club for me, but they've got no chance.

I have a feeling Amy Winehouse will get it.

I agree with Max_Headroom.

Klaxons one of the most over hyped bands ever. Saw them before and couldn't believe these people were selling records. There a joke.
