Hahahaha, I think they'll get something sorted out in the nick of time mind but it would be class if they weren't allowed to play.

My housemates at Uni are all Leeds fans.

You all have short memories you ferkers on here.

Just think back to 1986 and the torrid time Boro fans and rthe club where going through thinking that it was the end of professional football for the town.

You wouldn't wish them days on your enemy.

Grow up lads and show a little respect.

re: Marching on together........guffaw guffaw....

Every dog has it's day!!! Where i live 80% of the people who follow footy support leeds. Over the years I have had so much abuse, ridicule, etc etc from these arrogant gits. No reasoning, impossible to have a sensible debate. They thrive on others misfortune, others tragedies etc. They have no morals when it comes to football or respect to that fact (ref Man Utd busby babes air crash). Worst moments were in 97 when relegated at leeds. Not an ounce of support or remorse. Even had discussions about our perils in 86, again nowt! just you were lucky and if you had crashed tough, thats the way it goes!
They are fans who are further up their own arsenal than any other I know and i have worked all over the country.
A lad I know went to the Leeds darlo game the other night. They have rounded on Wise and Bates, things in the garden ain't rosie.
If Leeds go down again, I can assure you the champagne corks would be popping again in my household.
By the end of next season ask all the fans in division 1 which other team they dislike the most...it will be Leeds. They are like spoilt kids, if they don't win a game they will destroy the town they're playing in like a heard of bullies stamping their mark. No tears spilt here!!!...rant over LOL

re: Marching on together........guffaw guffaw....

The vast majority of their support justify the term Scum.

And like you Smithyred I can only take delight in their turmoil.

Joe, I never had you down as a bleeding heart?

Remember them laughing while Juninho wept?

JoeLaidlaw Posted on 4/8 12:52
re: Marching on together........guffaw guffaw....

I do remember the Leeds fans laughing at Juninho and I also remember Martin trying to fumble the ball to a Boro forward to score but we did not respond.

Watching that game I felt Leeds did all they could to keep us up but we didn't (lack of spirit barr than TLF).

smithythered - Treat others like you would like to be treat, you never know it might rub off.

I think it ust be in the way I was brought up that I don't laugh at others misfortunes.

smithythered Posted on 4/8 13:43
re: Marching on together........guffaw guffaw....

"smithythered - Treat others like you would like to be treat, you never know it might rub off".

Joe, you are correct and thats how I run my life....99.9% of the time. Those that know me personally on this board will vouch for the type of person I am. I can look in the mirror at how I do things and accept me.

On this topic tho that is why i stand frustrated at leeds fans pure hatred of everything (vitriol is their middle name). Having lived amongst them for 15 years and treat them how I would like to be treat myself it has never rubbed off and never will. I could give you a thousand examples.

So you are right but on this one I remain constant that it couldn't happen to a more deserving bunch.

re: Marching on together........guffaw guffaw....

I was out with a staunch Leeds fan last night who I would call a true mate, friend and brother who lives his life the way you describe your own. Hell get a ribbing about the points deduction tonight when he gets back from their friendly (Wigan me thinks) and I bet there is many more like him.

No doubt you will have been at away matches with some of the scum that follow the Boro and watched on in disgust as they spout the vile evil mentality at others, given our town a terrible name and reputation we would like to avoid.

It is the same at every club and Leeds and Boro are no different. I remember in the 80s going to smaller clubs than the Boro and thinking it was our god given right to win. During these times the Boro fans had a go at taking a lot of kops causing bother where ever they went and smashing up towns (ask Barnsley)

What do you think the fans of these clubs will think of the Boro after witnessing the minority causing bother?

borobuddah Posted on 4/8 18:05
re: Marching on together........guffaw guffaw....

Alright Joe, you ARE right.

They are people just like us, the fans are always shat on.

But Ken Bates?

When he was asked by a press reporter after the "Battle of Stamford bridge" why his stewards opened the gates of the Shed to allow their fans on the pitch, you know what he said?

"I'm off back to my dairy farm, why don't you just fook off back to yer council flat?"

"The Bob end go marching without any fuss......"

JoeLaidlaw Posted on 5/8 2:43
re: Marching on together........guffaw guffaw....

borobuddah - thats a grudge you have against Ken Bates.

I must admit I'm not a lover of him either but I was never a lover of Charlie Amer and the antics he performed at the Boro.

My whole point here was the feeling of dismay I and many others felt when the Boro nearly went out of buisiness and I would hate any one else to suffer that anguish.

I remember people collecting in buckets in pubs, clubs and at work to help save them. A guy even offered to give the club his redundancy package from Smiths Dock. Smiths had just announced it was closing around the same period and the people who worked there felt their whole world was collapsing.

Dark days I remember.

re: Marching on together........guffaw guffaw....

The Boro was saved in 1986 by Boro fans like Steve Gibson and local institutions. Why aren't Leeds fans coming forward to save Leeds? It's a rich city and must have lots of wealthy fans, but they don't appear to care enough to do anything.

re: Marching on together........guffaw guffaw....

Joe, you are in a minority mate. The fans of Leeds ( admittedly there will be plenty of "nice ones") are the most horrible in football and I for one delight in their predicament.
