Like Whelan suggested, he should resign. The whole thing is a farce and has dragged the EPL through the mud. If the Italian FA looked bad a year ago, the English FA look even worse through this. At least the Italian FA eventually handed out punishment for their sides wrongdoing, regardless of who they were.

Weren't West Ham punished? I though they were given the biggest fine in footballing history or something?

for me this is the beginning of the end of the premiership. The PL have basically let west ham off totally scot free. if west ham ended the season in 8th place, 20 points above relegation i am certain that west ham would have been deducted points. It stinks of corruption and a £5m fine is a joke to a club like west ham who have a sugar daddy throwing money around left, right and center. do the PL think its "right" and "fair" that west ham should not face a points deduction, did they think it was "right" and "fair" when a certain club ended up relegated due to a 3 point deduction? IT FIICKING STINKS

A 3 point fine if whu were 20pts from relegation would be a lesser sentence than the one they got (hypothetically speaking).

The question is, is Scudamore and his henchmen corrupt or merely incompetent?

£5m fine. they have just reduced that by £2m for the sale of the player they never owned

theyre highly skilled administrators, they know the game inside out..so therefore, no excuses. and they (excuse the pun) took thier eye off the ball over the transfer/loan deals. i have a view that they gave west ham a £5M fine, because they were of the opinion that they (west ham) were close to certs to be relegated...so they took the money fully expecting west ham to go down in any case. as we now know it didnt happen, they survived by 2 points.. the question for me is one of using 'unregistered players'..i cant see that 3 points deducted is enough or fair, surely every game the 'unregistered players' played in, the points should be awarded to the other team and a 2-0 win registered...then after that you can consider a fine, well in the order of Mi££ions of pounds. the decision to issue a fine to a premiership club in england is laughable..you get £30M just for being in the damn thing... a lawyer may indicate if that is corruption or not, i just want clear precise rules and a level playing field for the rest of us.

we discussed similar to what you said there badge last night in the pub The PL thought West Ham were as good as down anyway, so they could more sweep it under the mat then anything with a big fine (which is little to a football club) Obviously it didnt happen and they didnt want to admit their own wrong doings Whats completely corrupt is, before the Wigan game, Tevez had his registration with that bloke apparently ripped up and he became registered to WHU, or so we were led to believe. That to the PL was ok even tho they as good as admitted lying and deceiving the PL for almost the entire season Even if they resign, the damage is done, the 'appy 'ammers will no doubt have a solid season and wont give a shitt that they are hated by all. Corrupt as hell, as evidence of everything thats wrong with fotball today
