before The Yak do's. after all i have all the qualities of a modern day everton striker.... i'm slow, fat, drink loads, and have a bad dress sense, dont mind a big house and can go on the sick faster than a 'mickey mouse' bin man...i dont mind a bit of coach travel for getting around england, i can kiss the badge of the helter skelter whilst secretly supporting the reds and finally i'm going a bit thin on top...  ..i'm convinced, i'll play for neverton before The Yak. | |

Some great writing on the Ayresome thread there mate. You have a real talent for creating pictures, smellas ambience etc. The whole thread is brill, but your knowledge and memories are quite something. I know we didn't know each other that well, but it's weird that we never ever talked football. | |

No I didn't...could you mail it to me at nicholas.small@btinternet.com Weirdly, at that time I couldn't get to Saturday games because I was covering Billingham Synthonia games for the Gazette, which was my Saturday job for a few years until I took the job letting the bands in at the RG. I only realised you were a Boro fan when Pete Bell told me much later. | |
