| Is Mido going to help? | |
I've been calling for us to snap Mido up all summer but looking at it last night, looking at the complete non existant service and pathetic midfield i can't see how he is going to help things. For the first time i'm of the opinion we should get shot of Yak, he does not want to be here and to get 10 million for a player with such an abysmal first touch would be a dream. I saw a stat on the telly last night that Yak has 25 goals in 72 games for us. I think if you take the penalties away that figure will be more like 15 in 72 which is hardly impressive, and i'd say 10 million is a very good deal for us.

get shot of him as quick as possible and let the team move on. get Mido embedded into a formation and stick to it. He'll be an asset to us and I think other players will appreciate having him upfront rather than Yak, who is very one dimensional and SELFISH

Agree. With no service all of our forwards will struggle - or at least not be able to perform to the best of their abilities. Stems from having a shyte midfield......and I think over 20k fans knew this last season. Sadly, apart from playing Tuncay wide right (which he does'nt look 100% comfortable with) same midfield, same problems. The midfield unit that has started the season does not work. Has Southgate the bollox to make it work though?

I agree about Yakubu. I've wanted him to stay as well but it looks like he ain't bothered. Lets hope Southgate can find someone to replace him before the end of the month.

Foxy_16, it's clear it needs totally overhauling. There's no pace, power, creativity or energy. It's not my job to say who we should sign, that's not my job. I'm just making an observation that's pretty apparent i would say. Keep Downing on the left and that's about all i'd keep of that midfield. Get Tuncay upfront with Mido.

re: Is Mido going to help? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- People are moaning about the midfeild which is fair enough but who would u bring in to change things round? Iv been saying it for a few days any of... Lassana Diarra - Talented maybes not sure he would come in and really improve us with his lack of experience. Papa Bouba Diop - Gets forward and gets back chips in with a few goals good in the tackle and a beast. Getting onto about 30 now though. Mathieu Flamini - Very versatile, could even be cover for left back gets forward and prety fit. Darren Fletcher - Decent player overshadowed by all the talent in United's team could play in the centre and on the right. They are my suggestions all at reasonable prices some maybes on loan.

Mido will make a lot of differance. he is aphysical pressance up front. He can make a good ball out of a bad Davies/Riggott upfield lob. That will take pressure of the defence.....which will give midfield confidence to move a few yards further upfield....which means our midfield will be quicker to support the forwards.....thus more goal threat. A target man is essential to us, and the main reason why I see Yak as expendible. I would gladly sell Yak for 12 mill, get a bench warmer with the money e.g. Collins John (2.5mill) who can come on and ruffle feathers. Spend the rest of the Yak+Mozza dosh on a quality right or central midfielder. Should have no probs getting one for the 11 mill we will still have from transfer activity.
